I saw this old GOTM cover and I was wondering who are they supposed to be?

A mystery. Help? D-:

However, I love the differences in the armor. Clearly the sternum of a woman is made of solid titanium, and hence, unlike the male counterpart, requires no protection whatsoever. It's more important to entrance the opposing soldiers with one's (quite bony) cleavage, thus allowing time for a strategical killing blow while the other drools and stares, helpless in his (or her) rapture. Besides, two iron cups with no visible shirt or padding or underarm protection beneath must feel very comfy. At least there won't be ventilation problems in the heat of the battle!

In theory it's Whiskeyjack and Sorry.

In execution it's just a really silly cover with generic fantasy cover nonsense that has nothing to do with the story.

At best it's Paran with his age way off base and Lorn. Or it's Whiskeyjack and an anglicized Sorry, just hanging out as they usually do.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

That looks nothing like how I imagined Paran(he has black hair and is 'attractive')

And what about the newest cover?

What tower/castle is that supposed to be, if any?

Mock's Hold is the best theory we have going. It looks rather like the description, although the proportion of the lit windows may be slightly off.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Ahhhh, "who is on the cover of Gardens of the Moon". The google search tht brought me to this forum in the first place.

And I always assumed it was WJ and Lorn.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I thought part of Moon's Spawn at first but you might be right about that. Although I imagined Mock's Hold to be a little thicker and not as tall.

The horse has a name too. It's Miss Princess Prancing Pony.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Huh! My paperback has the same exact cover minus the female. I'd never seen this version before. I always figured it must be Ganoes Paran, but with too much age.

The hardcover and trade paperbacks feature the lass, but she was removed for the mass market reprint.

I think I prefer the "with" version; inaccurate though it may be, it's more interesting to look at. (Not like that, you pervs.)

(Okay, maybe a little bit like that.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

I love the Wizard of Sand and Lightning, one of my favorites in the series next to Sand Dogz (book 2) and Sad Horse, Sadder Rider (book 9).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My paperback has the first image minus the girl in crappy armor. My Kindle addition has the tower. I put hardback copies of the whole series on my wish list. These are some of the few books I want in hardback. Can't wait to see what they look like.

Lightning sword guy is the best cover.

Purple stone box is the most wtf

Edit: Seriously, what is he even trying to lightning?

Sadly my copy GoTM is disintegrating, it was second hand to begin with. I imagine I'll replace it, but that battered lightning sword cover will always be kind of special.

My favorite is Mr. Toad's Wild Carriage Ride.

Trying to compensate for something with a massive sword held aloft and which squirts out a single beam of lightning upon seeing this ravishing city?
Er, nevermind. I'm out of theories. :)

You are on a roll Kaamos :)

Beware, Ye poor cover design artists. Your art has been revealed to be nothing but puerile fantasies

I often wonder if cover artists have actually read the book before designing the cover. I imagine most of them just inserting the random dragon, sorcerer or warrior without even bothering to skim the book.
