Hah, nice edit too Grasp. You quoted me before mine went through though...oh well. Anyway, only one real way to find out, and that will happen in just over 4 hours. In the event that you are right, I will
Vote Rashan
I thought his ideas were reasonable, and I'd like to get a different mayor choice out there.

Point 3 under Day Phase explains it best: everyone must have their Judge nominated in case they are elected Judge .
The rules for Judge outline what happens if they fail to submit.
The election of a Mayor lasts the whole day - or until there is a majority plus one.
Essentially, votes before Rien Ne Va Plus are good-faith votes ("I trust your nomination no matter what") whereas after Rien Ne Va Plus, there's probably a component of "who did you submit, who do they want to lynch?" part involved.

Merrid's bullets are declining because he is using his die for actions and this is what I missed earlier as to who else was using actions already.
So Merrid. I'll vote for you if you vote for me for Mayor. With votes costing bullets you won't see a lot of switching going around and we could be the "Leading canidates" I'd also select you as my judge if I get elected and you can elect me as judge if you want too.
How is that for the usual Day one nonsense?

I'm down with this.
In fact, why not get this party started? We only have a few hours left till our choices for Judge and lynchee have to be in anyway.
Vote Fanderay

As stated above by a few people being elected mayor and subsequently electing a Judge has both it's risks and rewards. If people are thinking that I am wanting to be mayor just for the reward aspect then by all means vote Merrid or vote for whoever you think is the most deserving of being the Mayor. I just know that if we dink around all game and not elect anyone to being the mayor then the game will be determined completely by Actions. If you are okay with that then fine. I'm not. I'll follow through with my end of the deal.
Vote Merrid
(2)
I'm not a big fan of Merrid getting elected simply because he seems to be doing a lot of actions already. I don't know that that necessarily corresponds to a power player but I think if he wasn't he'd be a bit more shy about it.
[3]
Well it was the suggestion I put forth and he took me up on it. I feel that if I do become elected to office it would look very poorly upon me if I don't do what I said. I don't want that fact to be used against me in the future. IE As mayor I'll do what the people want.

And that's why I voted for you

Of course, what the people want hasn't really been determined all that clearly yet has it? IMO, I'd actually be okay with a low-poster/no-show lynch if there's a player who hasn't appeared or made any serious logins yet by the time we get to the end of day 1. After all, with the 48 hour timer the end of day 1 could well be what in most games would be the middle of day 2, which is very long for someone not to show up. I don't think there's really any real content cases to push today and unlikely for one to show up later on, so getting rid of what will likely be deadweight while getting a demonstration of how the lynch mechanics goes down seems like the best option to me, as it stands now.

Anyways, it's very late here, so I'm off to pack and then sleep! I'm going out of town tomorrow until the weekend. I will try my best to get some time to login and catch up at least once, but don't expect any essays until next week
Good night!

I see we are already getting serious.
I am read up and I honestly don't like people getting votes without announcing their judge first.

Thank you for all of your hard efforts to decipher the Mayor/Judge rules. I think it all makes sense now.
Where I feel I should comment is on the whole concept of the day 1 lynch in this game. As far as faction games go, the first day is a shot in the dark where the odds are in your favor in terms of not lynching your own. However there are two things to consider:
1) Off-thread comms combined with a Judge acting as the lynch decision. One person has the power to lynch, and they may already have an advantage in knowing people who are on or not on their team, so it's not as much of a shot in the dark as it usually is.
2) What does a lynch actually do certain roles or roles in general? Tapper says being lynched gains you experience, which suggests that you don't actually leave the game? (at least initially). So targeting your faction members for lynch might be a good thing for some, so naming a judge really creates the possibility that an advantage is being gift-wrapped for a certain faction.
Now someone come on and tell me that I read the rules wrong and I'm a dumbass

I think it is actually a good point. I don't there is the slightest chance that some faction members don't know each other in this game, so we are giving the Mayor a chance to make his teammate a judge, thus me not liking the current votes.

There are (roughly) 26 hours and 15 minutes on the clock in day 1.
the race of mayor is more like a crawl, with the following distribution:
18 players are alive. 10 votes required to elect a Mayor.
Alts: Barghast, Bek Okhan, Cast, Demelain, Denul, Emurlahn, Fanderay, Grasp, Hanas, Hentos Iln, Jalan, Lock, Liosan, Meanas, Merrid, Nimander Golit, Rashan, Ultama.
We will not be using Mafia Manager.
Temporary Alts day 1 (6): Alkend, Ampelas, Anomandaris, Anthras, Aparal Forge, Aranathas
2 votes for Fanderay (Merrid, Grasp)
1 vote for Merrid (Fanderay)
1 vote for Rashan (Ultama)
Not voted:
Barghast, Bek Okhan, Cast, Demelain, Denul, Emurlahn, Hanas, Hentos Iln, Jalan, Lock, Liosan, Meanas, Nimander Golit, Rashan

So, err.. anyone worried about this?
PS, care to enlighten us as to the mechanics of the wager - losing is a) fatal or b ) usual Mud Street penalty? How do you account for random selection with fixed die wager entries?
At least this gives us some potential information - a role can affect the wagers at a location. Given that most things have to be done on the location you are at that tells us that the role responsible is at Mud Street.
Likely roles? Going through the OP in PS order, Alchebiomist (high risk/reward incentive, death is a pretty big risk), Card Shark (because, well, it is a wager and role can potentially deflect negative wager effects from how I read it), Southern Scion (card based role again), Released Wanderer (summoner/card player possessing "strange powers" and "sanity problem with a unique solution to that problem") and Scion of LaRUA (wager role, don't see a deal chance in RR though)
So, after that I think the Released Wanderer is currently on Mud Street.
Just my thoughts, anyone else got some?

I will clarify partly.
Mud Street's normal Wager is supplanted by this one.
Its conditions are unknown to all but the change's performer and the loser(s) of any Wager(s) on Mud Street.

Barghast, I suggest you have another look at the Card Shark's Knack. And they can do it on any location, so I'm guessing the one location they won't be on is Mud Street.
