Basic game setup:

The Fujiwari are besieging two castles simultaneously.

Fujiwari have 2 Generals, one for each castle, who are this games killer role.
They may ONLY kill players who are at that castle location. If they choose a target who is not at that castle's location, they will get a failure message.

The killers can send a message to the other killer at the other castle via the Auxiliary troop General. This is a one time message, per night, sent to PS, to be delivered at the dawn of the next day. Killers do NOT have off thread comms beyond this message system. Generals can say anything they wish in this message. If the Auxiliary troop general is killed, these messages cease to be an option. The Auxiliary general does NOT get to read the message, their part in this action is passive.

Auxiliery general does NOT know the identity of anyone on his team.

Each General (except for the Auxiliery troup Gen) has a symp located at their castle with them. That symp ONLY knows the general who they serve directly. They do not know the identity of the general at the other castle, nor the auxiliery general.

Miura and Uesugi clans

Each castle has a General. The General has one action, and that is a sortie (vig) action they can use once, and it is only successful on a player that exists at their castle's location. Otherwise the sortie fails and they lose their vig.
IF the Fujiwari auxiliery troop is killed, the Miura and Uesugi generals may begin to communicate with each other via messenger system (much like the Fujiwari system, one message per night, delivered at dawn).
General does not know who is on his team.

Each General has a Captain, who posesses a (guard) ability. Again, only effective on players located at their castle. If their General is killed, they inherit any unused (vig). Captain does NOT know who his General, or who anyone else is.

Regular troops in the castles are RI, and do NOT know their leader.

If a besieging scum General dies, the player who is the Auxiliery General is offered a choice. Continue to serve as a defensive player who prevents Miura and Uesugi communication, OR marches to assume the killer role at the castle of the fallen general.

If the game reaches a point where one castle falls completely, and the both the auxiliery general and the original besieging general is dead at the other castle, the victorious general marches and assumes the attack on the 2nd castle.

There several scenarios which can occur which will affect future chapters, although ultimately they all boil down to the basic scum/town victories.


Scenario one - Both castles fall to the scum - Fujiwari wins.

Scenario two - If the besieging Fujiwari general of either the Miura or Uesugi castle AND the auxiliery general are dead, the clan in that castle can claim victory and the Fujiwari partial victory if they can defeat the other castle. The game is NOT called and no one is informed of partial victory until the very end because victory or defeat may not have been decided at the other castle.

Scenario three - Both besieging generals and the auxiliery general are dead - Miura and Uesugi win.

Complete Fujiwari victory still operates on voting numbers, regardless of the fact they are potentially at seperate castles.

My thoughts on balance, if anyone cares :p

The killers gain in power due to the fact they can potentially kill two town per night. This in turn is limited by the fact they don't know who they can kill with only half the field available. Also, the town guards are more effective since there is no killer pair to get around it. Finally, their communication is limited.

The scum numbers start out strong, but symps are limited in that they only know one master.

The Aux general is arguably the scum's most strategic role and potentially most important. Replacing a downed killer and carrying messsages until then are big roles. This is offset by how vulnerable they are. They can go down to a mistaking NK by either general, the vigs and of course a lynch. And they arent' even a proper symp since they don't know who is on their team. They are "Wide Eyed Stupid."


As for town. Guards are more powerful due to the lack of paired killers, plus they inherit the vig. However, there are likely going to be nights where kills don't happen, so that could confuse them. Castle generals have a vig, but they have to be even more judicious about using it than usual. Using it to off someone you've alted and is on your "list" instead of using it on a killer is less likely to hurt town though. Town also has the potential lover link if the Aux general goes down, which adds another "power" role.

For everyone's info of character continuity between games:

Miura Yoshiatsu was in the last game, played by Tatts.

Iida Gen, Fujiwari general of Sengoku 2 and was played by King Lear is now besieging the Miura.

Uesugi Tomosada, the Lieutenant adopted by the Fujiwara in Sengoku 2 and was played by Starling is the general against the Uesugi. (Poetic, that).

Omori Fujisada, a spearman of the Fujiwari in Sengoku 2 who was played by Mott is the symp at Miura castle.

Nagao Tamemasa was also in Sengoku 2, a spearman who was played by Ansible is now the Uesugi Captain.

The Fujiwari Leader in Sengoku 2 who was played by The Dude is not a role in this game.

Town Roles
You are Miura Yoshiatsu, the general and current head of the Miura clan. Let us not mince words, if you fail here, the Miura are finished and the Fujiwari will commence to kill and subjugate your vassals and claim your territory. Only by throwing them back here at Arai castle can you gain a respite and perhaps save your clan. Best case, you can forge an alliance with another clan to help ensure your survival.
Night Action(s)
Sortie – You send a sortie charge into the enemy in an attempt to break their attack. This is a “vig” action, and it can only be used once. If it fails, you do not get a second chance.
XXXX – Unlocked under certain circumstances.

You are Ota Suketaka, the general tasked by the Uesugi clan with holding Edo castle. If you allow this castle to fall, the Fujiwari will take control of a huge expanse of the Kanto plain and be able to threaten the Uesugi lands more directly. You mustn’t fail here! Do not expect help, but if the chance for alliance comes do not hesitate to exploit it.
Night Action(s)

Guard - Choose an alt whose action you wish to prevent. You will be informed “success” or “unsuccessful” at the start of day. Please not that this is only whether or not you successfully guarded the person, not whether or not you actually blocked an action.

You are Yasuhide Narumasa, Captain of Arai castle (Miura clan). You are tasked by Miura Yoshiatsu to help defend the castle at all costs. The fate of the Miura clan lies entirely on whether this castle holds or falls.

Scum Roles
You are General Iida Gen, the general who has been sent by Oomori Fujiwari to take Arai castle and crush the Miura clan once and for all. Success means complete control over Kamakura and the Miura peninsula. Success also will mean an exalted position for the Gen family in the Fujiwari household and increased holdings, perhaps the Miura peninsula itself!
Night Actions
Attack – Choose an alt to kill. You are not a paired killer, so there is no need to confirm this action.
Message – Send a message to the general in charge of the siege of Edo castle. You may send any message you wish TO PATH-SHAPER, and this will be forwarded to that player.
In the message, you may say whatever you wish but only one message per night will be sent. The other general will receive this message at Dawn of the next Day.

You are General Uesugi Tomosada. You were once of the Uesugi clan, but defected to the Fujiwari during the battles with the Ashikaga (Sengoku Chapter 2). To test your loyalty and use your knowledge of the the Uesugi, Oomori Fujiwari has sent you to besiege and take Edo castle. If you prove yourself here, you will be allowed to change your name and formally take lands and holdings within the Fujiwari domain, perhaps even this very castle!
Night Actions
Attack – Choose an alt to kill. You are not a paired killer, so there is no need to confirm this action.
Message – Send a message to the general in charge of the siege of Arai castle. You may send any message you wish TO PATH-SHAPER, and this will be forwarded to that player.

Message Service (passive). As long as you remain alive, you pass messages between the generals at the castles. You may, by informing PS, also block these messages if you so choose. If you die, they will no longer be able to communicate. And no, you cannot read those messages, even if you block them.

You are Senosuke Masahara, in charge of support troops for General Iida Gen (Mockra) at Arai castle.
You are a symp. You have no night actions.

You are Kenshiro Mochizuki, in charge of support troops for General Uesugi Tomosada (Tellan) at Edo castle. You are a symp. You have no night actions.
Please note, you are on the Fujiwari scum team, don’t be fooled by the Uesugi name of your general. Tomosada defected to the Fujiwari in Sengoku Chapter 2. (Just to confuse you :p/> )

You are absolutely right. But there is a completely valid fix that stays fully within the spirit of random.

We have two extra alts. And I have a quarter. :p/>
