Amazon.co.uk have it.

£7.99 for the hardcover, delivered saturday, thats hella cheap for a hardcover, considering warriors of the storm is still £16 in hardcover (yet only £3 in paperback)
saw it in ASDA tonight doing the shopping, £10 for the hardback, was awful tempted to lift it there and then but thought I'd check it out online at home first.
Kobo are looking £12.99 for ebook? what the hell is this shit, I'm tempted to god hardback even though I have none of the rest in dead tree. but once I have book 10 in the series in book form, I'm going to want the rest.....

Ima hold of until ebook drops significantly

ETA - even stranger, my kobo desktop has 2 titles listed, The Flame Bearer (The Last Kingdom Series Book 10) is £12.99. The Flame Bearer (Saxon Tales) is £9.78
same covers, same blurb. They trying to make a quick buck by over pricing and sticking the last kingdom on it tie to the TV show? why list the cheaper one directly below it?

I'm loving this book so far, 123 pages in and it hasn't missed a beat, absolute page turner and I'm having to drag myself away for sleep, I should have been asleep a couple of hours ago but it's that good.

Uhtred at his best!

You should have done the sensible thing and high grade photographed every page, it's worth it.

If you are Uhtred fans, you NEED to read this book!

Is it the last book? Cornwell is cagey on how long the series will go on...but since this is the 10th book I wonder if it closes out his story.

You can spoiler your reply if you like champ.

I heard this is the one where uthred finally admits he is a cylon sent from a galaxy far far away. at the end he is put into a deep freeze, with a mind wipe performed and anew identity put in place, then shipped to india.

years later he is unearthed by a company of redcoats.....

Quick answer - nothing spoilery:

Spoiler

Though I could add so much more to that...

Bit of an FYI - if you can, avoid the Table of Contents for the book, there are 4 sections to the book and the last ones name is pretty spoiler alert!

Are these popcorn reads and the typical bks are better then the show? I only managed to make it 3-4 Ep before I stopped. I prefer Vikings by leaps and bounds. One of the best shows in the past 3 yrs imo. I may look into it next yr if bks are better.

Books are better than the show. And yes, the books are popcorn reads (or men's romance) where the manly male lead defeats his enemies and gets the girls. That being said, they are still lots of fun. Cornwell's description of the shield wall is incredible. You could see it reflected in how realistic it look on the show. Put the Winterfell battle on GoT to shame IMO.

War Lord, the final book in the Last Kingdom series was out yesterday. A wave of sadness washed over me when I realised it was the final book, I was with this series from the first book in 2004.

I've still got the last two to read so I'm going to read all three back to back...

I can't pre-order it here yet, but I'm going to keep my eye out. I hope it's good. Maybe the break since the last book (FURY in 2007 I think?) has refreshed Sharpe in his head?
