IF I am right though, and the infested tiles can each generate new generic Vord, our best defense at the moment is to keep them bottled on the left by reinforcing Elinarch. I don't know how the blue line works with moving and attacking across in relation to the Vord, but it's at least worth a shot to keep Elinarch blocked as much as possible until we have any reason to defend somewhere else. Book-wise, the blue line there is an ocean so it'd make a lot of sense if attacks across it are not possible, which helps defend it even more.
Then again, in the books the Vord randomly showed up in Kalare somehow... so that might not be a permanent solution.

Wasn't Fener supposed to slow/cut down the infestation at Shuar? What happened with that then?
And what makes you think the Vord can regenerate? Have I missed something to do with that? I wouldn't want to not lynch Tiam just because of the suspicion that she might come back.

Nimander's point in red above is about an infested tile spawning "a new generic Vord"

Compare that to the red highlight from Mockra's reply to NG. Nimander didn't say anything about REgenerating. And Mockra's highlighted blue comment shows he didn't type regenerate accidentally. I don't think that until this comment anybody had said anything about the possibility that Tiamatha could survive dying.

Some pressure is definitely called for.

re jumping from person to person: that's not uncommon in faction games where many players don't really know who anyone else is and there's no easily determined scum behaviour patterns to look for.

Something struck me about this - the previous infestation increases we've seen have been +5 and +3. This time we only get +1.

+5 was when the Vord were likely entirely unopposed in infesting on the first day. The +3 happened with a FA +1 present. We don't know about the next day as infestation was completed. This time we have +1 only to infestation.

My theory - each FA reduces the possible infestation on that tile by 2. So Day 2 start 1 FA present at Shuar, infestation = +5-2=3. Day 4, Elinarch infestation +5-2-2=1

Hmm, it's possible, but I have a different theory. I think each Vord alt increases the infestation counter of its current location by +1, but either the Keepers or the queen(s) increase it by more. So on day 1 the/a queen/keeper moved to Shuar, making it increase by 5 at the start of day 2. By the end of night 2 we had Alkend, Tiam, Rashan and possibly other vord alts, most if not all on Shuar, so that's easily at least +3 infestation point but it could've been more since Shuar was already at 8/11 (it could have increased to 15/11 for all we know, but once it went past 11 it just became infested). As we saw from the listing of players by faction+location this morning, there was one vord alt on the Elinarch at the start of today, and the Elinarch went up by +1 infestation.


IMO, it would make sense for the keepers to increase the infestation counter a lot, as that is pretty much what they do - they're spider-like creatures that expand and maintain the croach. But I'm not ruling it out as a possible queen ability to have a high infestation increase, either.

IMO, it would make sense for the keepers to increase the infestation counter a lot, as that is pretty much what they do - they're spider-like creatures that expand and maintain the croach. But I'm not ruling it out as a possible queen ability to have a high infestation increase, either.

This sounds fairly realistic to me. My other guess is that they may have to choose between passive abilities or attacks, too, like furycrafters; they can probably choose to increase the creep or to attack.
