Is it right there's going to be a Bobbi/Hunter spin-off show?

Y'know, I truly hope not. I like Bobby, Hunter not so much and their love story is generally annoying as fuck.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

^^ Yeah. I mean, more Adrianne Palicki is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned, but a spin-off series? Nah, I like things the way they are.

Now, if there were to be a love story, which apparently there does, I'd suggest either a Fitz/Bobbie or Skye/Bobbie story. Much more interesting!

From the comics that have mostly gone into the synthesis of the live action Marvel stuff, it's pretty clear that Hunter is supposed to be Hawkeye - the half-addled-by-being-a-jerk genius of combat.

But Hawkeye is a restricted-to-movies character and Renner doesn't play him like he's become in the comics - particularly the brilliant on-going Fraction run.

So we get a weird dynamic with Hunter in that he's not really displaying that he's anything special in the show right now/getting that much screentime and thus we don't particularly buy into their relationship.

It's an area where the AoS writers have not done well.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Yeah, that actually makes sense. And I agree, it is an area where they have done rather poorly. And I think the best course of action would be to pull the plug on that relationship as soon as possible. Though I reckon it couldn't happen until the end of the season due to pre-recording of the episodes.

I think the better course is to go the other way and figure out an episode like Simmons with Will (doesn't have to be a bottle episode) where we get some sustained scenes with the two of them and start connecting for real with them. Screentime almost always = increased connection.

If they pull the plug, then it's kind of wasting everything without a serious shot at trying to make it work.

I'm wondering, do you guys think that Powers Boothe is reprising his role from The Avengers?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I'm hoping he is, just for the simple fact that I hate lazy casting, and it would suck to have the same guy play two different people in the same universe.

But considering the reveal at the end, then it is probable that he was one of the those on the council in the first Avengers movie. What his long game is remains to be seen. Please let it be something spectacular, cos i find Ward to be tedious at this point.

So, did Coulson know Rosalyn's connects before the hook up or will he learn about it next week?

Answer is a resounding yes.

Gideon Malick is the name. I'm not fully caught up on the comics that went into the formulation of AoS, but he hasn't popped up anywhere so far.

I'm still waiting for Madame Hydra tho.

Good, good! This show is featuring quite a few of excellent actors and actresses so far and I like it. Ming-Na Wen, even though I don't really like Agent May, Ming-Na Wen certainly deserves credit as an excellent actress. Adrienne Palicki, not only super hot, but also quite talented (despite the farce that was wonderwoman) Constance Zimmer, well, she's just awesome as usual. And now we have Powers Boothe. He delivered an absolutely solid performance as an asshole saloon/procurer/casino owner/backstabber on Deadwood and I've been hoping to see him on a show I enjoy watching.

Man, May just can't seem to catch a break now, can she? First Bahrain, then Ward's betrayal, then Coulson's anger/feelings of betrayal, then the 2nd break-up with Andrew and now this. Is it that strange she's so closed of? Fitz/Simmons and Coulson/May are my favourite characters, and tag-teams, and every time I seem to learn more about May, my heart breaks for her.

BTW, how wonderful was the B-story of FitzSimmons getting closer again?:bs:

Looks like I should have had faith, in Phil . . . although Rosalyn seems to have been duped.

Excellent episode. Maybe the best one yet.

I know Black Bolts father was pretty fucking powerful and an evil tyrant to boot. I'm pretty sure he got banished to another world, though obviously I could be wrong.
