No, it's actually set after and there going to explain how Agent Coulson survived. I just watched the trailer I really hope the man I saw was Luke Cage, and if it is I am super pumped for this.

It is indeed taking place after the Avengers movie. Coulson being alive, well, Nick Fury is a spy, and spies lie...

Oh right, and yeah, I'm rather psyched for this aswell.

Rumour is that it's Rage, not Luke Cage.

I've been following the hype around this... i want to be psyched, but 'super heroes' on tv has given us a historically wildly diverse set of results, from BUFFY and HEROES season 1 to MUTANT X and every other season of Heroes.

They should totally do a Power Man & Iron Fist TV series!
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

That would be awesome, and hopefully they would be able to get rid of some of the more problematic characteristics.

On the superhero in trailer, I've also read it might be Patriot from the Young Avengers which really makes a lot of sense given his connection to Captain America and the super-soldier program. If they play this right we could get a good look at all the street level heroes like Heroes for Hire or Daredevil.

I was under the impression that was the general idea, more or less. >.>

Looking forward to this, though obviously it's up against the odds, as far as superheroes-on-TV track records go...

See also No Ordinary Family and The Cape, both of which lasted about three weeks.

In the grand scheme of things...Whedon, Disney, and Marvel's recent track record speaks well for this.

Coulson being in it ups its street cred before it airs.

I've heard tell it got a season order based off the pilot, which is cool.

If they can wrangle this into a success I think Marvel's domination of the visual medium in TV and film will be complete. Marvel Phase 2 is off to a rollicking good start with IM3.

So I'm cautiously optimistic.

Prior to reading the cast of this show I've never heard of Chloe Bennet. Don't know about her acting but my god those facial aesthetics! Ten out of ten, would bang/marry. :p

Pre-buzz from people who saw the premiere at SDCC is pretty good, which is nice because the latest trailers have been pretty weak.

I cannot pretend for even a second that i'm not going to watch this, but i don't know how any tv show can live up to the expectations set by the AVENGERS flic.

The buzz marketing isn't helping because they keep saying 'it's a the common man street level of the movie universe' in the same breath as 'it's like the Avengers only on tv!!!!'

The White-Luck McLovin walked, watching himself disappear over the Kansas border ahead. He turned back to see himself leaving Texas a few short hours ago. He walked into his walking, stepped into his stepping, on his way to the far-off land of Canada, a trail he has already walked and yet to walk. A trail that leads to him standing over the bloody corpse of the Abyss-Emperor, a final look of disbelief frozen in his dead eyes.

That would be known as "killing the messenger".

I really like Firefly. But it never had a chance. Because they gave him too much control.

Dollhouse faired better only because they made him turn it into a whorehouse. But if you write that plot and cast Eliza Dusku in the lead role, you wanted whorehouse to begin with.

Making him shoot 'The Train Job' at the last minute because they felt audiences wouldn't 'get' the pilot, then airing the series out of order, was giving him too much control?

OCD Scott wants the thread title fixed to spell Shield properly.

Please BK?...my mind...she is frazzled when she reads it.

My understanding is that he had more control over the plot and story for FIREFLY than he did on BUFFY and ANGEL. He forgot the important lesson from BUFFY... characters first, THEN overreaching uber plots that pay off after ten episodes.

The network had its slimy hand in FIREFLY's demise, but ultimately the show's failure to generate audience numbers rests with Joss, imnsho.
