In no particular order.

Hood
Gothos
Tarr
Throatslitter
Bottle
Gruntle
Gesler and Stormy (I'm counting the KCCM duo as one)
Dancer
Karsa Orlong
Coltain

Completely forgot about Bottle. Good one.

I think we are forgetting Scorch and Leff (my favorite characters, lol). :)

I like many of the characters, Dassem Ultor, Coltaine, Rake, Kalam, Icarium and so forth. But I have to give top 1 to Hedge. Why? Because he dies, comes back and makes his own Bridgeburners, WITH BLACKJACK AND HOOKERS!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

There are lots of characters I've forgotten about that I'm encountering again as I get further into the series for the second time.

I'm going to have to revise my list.

My mainstays are..

Coltaine, Traveller, and Karsa Orlong.

The rest is yet to be determined, until I finish the series again. I may even end up breaking the list down into two. A top ten mage list and another for non-magical characters. Or at least non-directly-magical-wielding characters.

Badass as someof these are, I'd give some others a thought too; still some I keep. So, in some order but not absolute:

1) Ganoes Paran. A Goddess is slaughtering a whole continent? Fine, one stab, one kill. Hounds stuck in Dragnipur? I'll get them out, no sweat. A God manages to kill me? Meh, I have friends.
2) Fiddler. Nothing says Badass like smacking Silchas Ruin with a Cusser.
3) Tehol Beddict. He could bring down an Empire by himself.
4) Trull Sengar. He stopped Icarium. With a spear.
5) Brys Beddict. He stopped Rhulad before it was cool.
6) Quick Ben. He threw back Icarium... but he used magic to do it. Also, smashing Sheltatha Lore et al. was good.
7) Anomander Rake. Shaming a God into doing something, throwing back Chaos further than Hood and ALL the dead EVER? He did it. As well as having the respect of almost all other badasses of his age.
8) Apsalar. Shadow Dancing so well that even Shadowthrone is impressed ('Not even Cotillion...')
9) Shadowthrone/Kellanved: from barkeep to Emperor to God-who-outplays-everyone (he had help, but still)
10) Laseen/Surly. My Empire is falling apart? Fine, I'll kill them ALL. Minus points for failure, sadly.

Whiskyjack!!!! Never forget him. A lot of badasses had super high regard for him ( Caladan Brood, Anomander, Cotillion, Shadowthrone, Dassem) and he had to be injured for Kallor to kick his ass and even then it was close.
But overall, I'd go with the Bridgeburner/bonehunter entities. They spat in the face of gods, killed gods, and fuc'ed basically every elder race they went against.... Hell, hood allied himself with QuickBen. And won against what was in the end impossible odds, to redress an old mistake made by the gods and ascendants themselves. They figured everythng out and freed The Crippled God himself. Now THAT's badass.

Ges and Stormy for their ultimate sacrifice to save to world, especially Gesler punching the Forkrul Assail to save Blend his faithful pooch. I love that damn dog and so did he, so heartwarming that he chose to save it with his last act. Malazans are epic and the punch was of a rediculous magnitude too!

In reality though, this needs to be a top 100!Posted Image

Blend is a retired Bridgeburner who lives in Darujhistan, along with Antsy and Picker, not a dog.

I think you're thinking of Bent.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I demand Telorast & Curdle plushies.
