@Tapper if you did engage Twelve's 5 ships then that would give me a good chance of taking the centre off of Twelve. You're not going to win, but you could be instrumental to the fall of the Eridani Empire.

I wouldn't get into a shield v computers match up tatts, it's no good twelve not hitting you if you don't hit him in return. His massive amounts of hull and initiative mean there is only one probable winner if you go that way. Have a play with the simulator, but I'm pretty sure your odds are going to be worse with shields.

I worked it out that with me dreads as they are now he would need two hits with an anti matter cannon, yet if I upgrade one improved hull to a phase shield then he would still need two hits with an anti matter cannon BUT his computers would be worse off. It doesn't matter if my dread has 5HP or 7HP does it?

I will destroy his dread so easily enough, if Tapper pins those 5 ships then I am going against 4 starbases. With computers he would need a 5 or 6 to hit

I have a sinking feeling that Tapper has his eyes on another prize and has no intention of helping you out. If his move against me was defensive, he could as easily have left forces in his own warp portal hex.

You're forgetting the missiles. 1 pt of damage. Two hits brings each dread down to 4 armor. Then a single hit from the AM cannons do destroy you.

Which brings up an announcement.
The default for Round 9 battles will be interactive. I roll the dice and wait for the player to assign the hits.

You'll have to wait a little for my orders, sometimes later tonight, but they will involve some kind of upgrade so if that doesn't impact anyone feel free to move on.
