Can I build ships in Aldebran whilst I have a ship there? Or do I need to influence the hex first? I am going to build cruisers there but they can only move one space.

"Build up to two Ships (Interceptors, Cruisers, Dreadnoughts, and Starbases) or Structures (Orbitals and Monoliths). Paytheir Material cost (move the Storage Marker back­wards on the Storage Track) and place them in any of thehexes where you have an Influence Disc. "

You have to influence first.

Influence


Alderbran Hex 107, flip one colony ship


Remove disc from 232, replacing science cube onto science track.


Colonize Money Planet on Aldebran.


That should give me extra moves this round and show D'rek my intent. She can influence her homeworld, and I really want her to take some of my hexes this round. Then we will know where she stands with VP's. She can defend against Twelve last round whilst others attack him.

CF, what are you thinking about re taking on Capella? I could take a shot at it but you'd have to move all your ships out of the way otherwise I'd just get pinned. Might not be worth it as it would take me a while to get anything good in there with my drives.


My other options are taking Pollux off Tatts, and straight out flying into the GC, either to pin the dread (very unlikely to be possible) or take shot at tearing down some of twelve's defences so that he has to spend a turn or two rebuilding. But if Tatts is going to attack the GC this round then it's not worth it. Tatts?

Unless I prepare to take on Twelve next round, build my ships in aldebran, you hit him this round, I follow in the next round, meaning D'rek can take all my hexes whilst Twelve is occupied with me?

Next go I move dreads to aldebran, I build 2 cruisers the go after, build another 2 cruiser, then next round build 4 or 5 interceptors, I move in on the GC and d'rek takes hexes and build monoliths if possible.

Basically in the last round I will have almost a full fleet to take on Twelve for the GC whilst D'rek gains a points lead?

I like having a full compliment of players in a game but I'd be down with playing in a 6 player or greater game, though playing in two games at once might be too much. As for modding, alas, I just don't have the prerequisite tech skills to be able to post an appropriate map. And having the cool map gives the game a nice feel to it.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

On the plus side if we ran two smaller games people could try out either the Planta or the Dracos as they are excluded from the larger game due to balance issues.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

If it's an issue having 10 then I don't mind skipping the next game.

Still think that ban is in smaller games only, where they can wall off easily and outpace the other 1-2 players, not in big scale games...

I'm kind of at a loss right now. I could move some ships into SS's territory, or try to help out vs, Twelve by pinning that dread.

Actually, I kind of favour backstabbing for the moment. It will take pressure off of both Tapper and Tattersail and allow them to really let loose on Twelve!

Also, Khell, Capella is probably a bad choice for you...too many moves required by me and too many by you. Better for you to head for Pollux I think.


OR

If you want to be real cool about it, help me put the pincers on SS in Altair. No need to go against Twelve anymore...especially while he's preoccupied with Tattersail. You can colonize the shit out of that system for lots of resources right away, and by eliminating SS's excursion fleet, we're both much freer to act in the final round. I can take care of shit around his homeworld.
