The more who join in, the more twelve has to defend, the more stretched he becomes. Everyone can come out with something.

Yup! And dropping his income now is really good actually, as even though the cubes go to the graveyard now they will impact him for the last and most important round!

Ah.

And upon CF's shoulders lay the heavy burden.

Should he join the fledgling, the faltering, and the fatalistic in a heroic attempt to stop the galaxy from being dominated by the Eridani? Or should he say fuck it and decide which of the fledgling, the faltering, and the fatalistic to grace with the presence of his many friendly interceptors?

I like this narrative. I'm the fledgling eh?
I'm pretty sure I'll be a lot more experienced after this round. If I make it.....

CF, as for mod I would prefer to hand it back to you. Now isn't the best time though. People are here so progressing the game is possible. I'm sure there will be time later. Actually, with no posts from Tatts, I'm betting he's in bed.

SS, you have not once said yay or nay to anything about what you intend - possibly because you're making it up as you go along

I think it's time for you to make a decision publicly.

The way I see it, you can decide to do nothing but sit tight - in which case CF and Tapper are more than willing to come into your territory.

Or you can decide to attack one of the two current leaders - Tatts more likely from your position.

The more who join in in attacking those two, the less likely it is that someone attacks you, for this round anyway. Otherwise that nascent talk from CF could very quickly escalate into you losing quite a bit, whilst no one else this round loses anything.

Or he could mention that CF hasn't said anything to anyone that would lead him to believe that CF has any intention of going after Twelve.

GP, have you used your colony ships this round??

I'm showing two flipped and I don't know why.

You used them for science to get the missiles.

Oh, you mean aside from this?

Hi, been busy today and haven't checked in as a result.

I like the way all this speak of attacks is going. If we are doing this, we need to hit and hit hard.
Tapper, you are gunning for the 2 hexes right of centre?
Khell is gunning for the dreads and can pin them immediately.
I can pin the 3 interceptors over in the homeworld no problem, plus nuke the system directly to my north.
SS will need to play nice and agree not to attack tapper or me during all this, or try for some kind of long-distance move through his warp portal via my territories either to the right or left.
D'rek is going to head into Aldebran and take that out.

Tatts you are stuck with centre duty, and will have to sacrifice 2 interceptors to get your dreads out. I think this is the only alternative for you because otherwise we let Twelve sit there and bloat while we vultures move in on your territories. Tapper already asked if I would move my ship so he can head in, and I'm definitely thinking along the same lines.

But I think all recognize the need for concerted action vs. twelve now, right?

Sheesh, you don't know when to quit do you Tatts?

As long as Tatts moves his dreads into Eta Geminorum, my provisional is to build two interceptors in Eta Geminorum. You can consider that official and use it if I'm not here when my turn comes up.

Guys, if you want to attack Tatts' home systems to gain points and income for yourselves rather than strike out at twelve this turn, I'm okay with that. I'll leave my cruiser move for last. I do want to hit twelve, but it seems Tatts is going to force me to spend most of my actions defending against him again, and I'm still confident that a massive grand attack on twelve on round 9 will be possible and fruitful even if no one attacks him even once before then. Furthermore, I like the notion of Tatts taking some flak for his arrogance in moving past me.

Considering that the alternative was for the two dreadnaughts to be locked out of the rest of the game, what did you expect would happen? It's not like your starbases are that much of a threat either way. All you accomplish is to blow 12 materials, plus the required upgrade in a hopeless defence of a system you're very unlikely to hold no matter how much you add.

Why didn't you just reinforce the hive system instead? If so Tatts would in all likelihood have moved his fleet back and left you alone.

Gnaw said that as long as he kept his income from that hex that round he would have let me have his homeworld and got back the next round.

I have more moves than you here Drek, I can upgrade both interceptors, builds two more and upgrade dread further. You don't have that many moves.
