I like the fact that you moved excess old data as some players OP updates are a bit hard to read as the layouts aren't uniformed across players and some are down right cluttered. If you, as a mod, are planning on moving the data why can't you just, as part of the game setup, have 9 seperate posts designed to track all player actions for everyones viewing that is in players order and in a uniformed format.

Update the posts as actions are submitted. Granted it defeats the whole purpose of having players put their actions in one place to help make things easier on the mod but this would be the eqivelant of doing a running text version of a board update.

Thank you for commenting.

The reason I much prefer the way it is currently in post #3 and the TU post is because it is the player's doing all the work. For example, right now Khell and Tatts can delete the round 1-4 data from their posts. (It's in the GC #3 post. And there should also be a second post that is a duplicate of the GC #3 just for safety sake. I'll take care of that this evening.)

You start round 5. GC comes through and cuts/pastes all the round 4 data into the single post. When round 6 starts, GC comes back through gathering the round 5 data.

Each player is responsible for their own OP post. But now it's a much cleaner, easier to read, and way easier to add turn 4 action when it's time.

But all the previous round data is saved. It's available to all the players to look through.

Edit:

In addition, I do think that the first page should be setup so that the player posts are in the order of their places around the circle. Which means that the game thread should not be started until after the player roster is set in the signup sheet.

For the current game I think that GC can make a second game thread. Move the player first posts one at a time to the new thread. and them merge the rest of this thread onto that thread.

But I have zero intention of trying that. A single mistake would add 9 more people to the list of folks who want me dead.

Morgy's took all of 3 minutes to move.

Everyone but Tapper and CF may, if they wish, deleted all round 1 - 4 information. It is now copied into the GC post #3 of this thread.

Meh.

...may, if they wish, delete all round 1-4 information from their own page 1 info post. It is...

Speaking of doing OP updates, Khell when you finally get around to making a decision on what you are going to do (any day now would be nice) are you planning on doing an OP update at the same time?

Sorry, I'm not really around. There was nothing to update anyway!

RESEARCH Advanced Robotics.

I asked about Phase Shields purely in case it's decided that I need to commit ships against twelve, it might have helped them last a tiny bit longer.

I didn't 'move' anyone's archives. I simply copied them to the GC Recent Activities. Those I mentioned about should be safe to delete eveythiing from Rounds 1-4. I would suggest each person double check that I got it all. I double checked when I did it but all bugs are shallow if enough eyes are looking.

If you, as a mod, are planning on moving the data why can't you just, as part of the game setup, have 9 seperate posts designed to track all player actions for everyones viewing that is in players order and in a uniformed format.

Because I'm lazy. Copy/past is easy to do each round. But keeping track of everyone's moves would be more difficult.

Update the posts as actions are submitted. Granted it defeats the whole purpose of having players put their actions in one place to help make things easier on the mod but this would be the eqivelant of doing a running text version of a board update.

I really liked the CF idea of each player keeping their page 1 post updated each turn of each round. I do agree that ideally the order of those posts should be in player order. But it didn't work out this time. I can make sure they get place properly next game.

I'm guessing that many people are not keeping up due to time. But I am also wondering if it's partially because of fear of losing all the previous round date. If anyone else knows another reason why it's not happening I'd love to know. Or if you've got complaints about how it's done.

Thanks,
-g

As always, this is CF's game and thread. so please send any hate mail to me not him. Posted Image

So, D'rek: I still dream of winning, which would require twelve to be taken down. It pains me, but if you want to exchange ambassadors i'm willing. I'll aim for building a portal instead, and you'll be able to prioritize twelve's downfall

As he says he has dreams of winning. D'rek as soon as you move out he is definately going to move back into his home world. Don't give him the chance.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Heh. CF the more I look the more I liked that influence action. (I like that you did it; it strikes me as an exploit.)

One discover disc left in the game. You build two intercepters in the supernova and move the one from your warp portal to Gamma Serpentis. Move the 2 interceptors there as well. Running the risk of getting them trapped there though. 50/50 that it blows. But you get 4 fairly nice systems at the end of this round. I'm assuming you're going to go ahead and grab Theta Pegasi while you're at it?

Tatts is the only person who could beat CF to that ancient but he's not going to move a dread that far and have it tied up.

Tapper is beat out of those systems he bargained for. He can't move far because SS built a dread and is now much more a threat.

Morgy is asking D'rek for permission not to be eliminated this round.

Khell damn sure isn't going to attack Twelve by his lonesome.

Given the situation, I fully expect to see D'rek "encourage" Morgy to pack his bags, use the warp portal, and emigrate elsewhere.

Twelve, I'm guessing you're safer this round than you were last. *shakes head*

Did somebody make a list of the remaining discovery tiles?

Khell researched advanced robotics.

I'm extinct.

So it's your turn.

SS are you aware fo this rule:

revelation The first time a Technology is placed on the fourth space on any ofyour Technology tracks, you receive a free Discovery Tile. You receive the tile onlyonce, not for each Technology track. If the tile allows you to place something ina hex (such as Ancient Cruiser or Ancient Orbital), you place it in your StartingSector. If you do not control your Starting Sector, you have to take the tile as 2VP.

Okay colonise two advanced economy planets on My Arae and Vega. That leaves one colony ship. Influence hex south west of gnaws ex home world. Flip one ship. colonise materials planet. Influence hex with grey planet. Flip one ship.

That leaves two colony ships UN flipped.

I think I have that right but flipping back and forth through phone pages is tough.

Yeah I was.
I can't see the board so I don't know if I'm in that position or not. Don't think I am.
