Yeah I'm back, just been catching up.

Not at all sure what tapper would want me to do here... he didn't leave very detailed instructions, and there are a couple of routes he could go down. His instructions didn't account for what to do with Gnaws territory when it opened up, and as he only really has one opportunity as to whether he's going to go for it or not I don't want to commit him.

Can you guys wait until he comes back?

Also SS, Morgoth, you guys really need to hold fire for a little, else Twelve is going to ease to victory. How far ahead he is makes me sad. He could feasibly grab, artifact key, advanced mining, gluon computers and plasma missiles this turn, which would be pretty much game over.

So start the negotiations what do people want? I think tapper will have to throw in at least a couple of ships against 105. 222, 213 and 106 can pretty much only be attacked by CF. Tats can probably take either 104 or the GC. D'rek can only hit the GC. But that requires SS, Morgoth and Khell not to attack in order for the attack to work.

I'm okay with waiting for Tapper to get back. I need some serious time to think what to do. The more I look at my situation and the more I realize I'm in some serious trouble this round if everyone gangs up on me.

This is what we need. Co ordination. I don't think he could grab all of those things, just maybe 3 ha ha.

edit. But with us hitting him a round or two can peg him back somewhat.

I can't grab all four and it's a stretch to be able to grab 3. I only have 24 science and this combination would cost 43 science. If I traded 12 science for 15 with the artifact key that gives me only three more science. That isn't a wise use of the artifact key. At best I can grab two of these.

I will not attack CF, Tatts or anyone else who is going to attack twelve (nor try to take their territories whilst they're not home).

Not sure what I'm doing. Obviously I'll convert it for something, but for what I have no idea yet. My ships are crappy, but there ain't much in the way of tech that's useful to me. Drives but no need for init. Sources but no good affordable weapons. No affordable computers. I haven't planned much beyond my first action this round TBH, pending what everybody decides to do RE you!

Yes, twelve will be on the fast track to a win if we do nothing. It's possible that somebody will be able to scrape together a challenge before the end of the game, but all the while we're duking it out, he'll be able to sit back, nab the expensive tech and build frivolous stuff (like monoliths or the shellworld) to secure his win and ensure a versatile defense. I definitely think our chance is now.

I am willing to contribute, but my ability will be pretty limited. As you say, maybe Tapper is best suited for the more crucial sectors like 222.

And I realize that it means Khell can just kinda plop interceptors and take my hexes at will, and I will have a hard time winning against Twelve's tech, but the alternative is just pissing around until the end of the game so I'm for whatever.

As it stands, I can kick the can down the road quite a ways before committing to a move, and I can move far, which makes me a good candidate for late-round shenanigans.

I'd offer to fill in for somebody like Morgy. But I'm a bit uncertain whether I want to hear the abuse that would crumble my fragile ego. All those "fuck no" "no way in hell" type things.

Besides, I've been chatting with twelve so he'd have a very legitimate complaint.

Eh not really. Morghy most likely isn't going to be attacking me so if he will accept you as a temporary fill in I have no complaints. The game has ground to a halt anyway with all the absences I doubt you would do more than an action or two for him anyway before he gets back.

Huh. Not what I expected from the Tapper/IH empire but to be honest I had no idea what to expect. I'm waiting on Gnaw to run some simulations for me since I can't. Though I have a general idea of how they would likely come out. The results of those simulations will determine my course of action this round. Hopefully he'll get back to me soon.
