@IH or D'rek or someone who has seen this situation
I'm wondering about retreating my interceptor in Kappa Scorpii. have an influenced hex over at Zeta Draconis and one down at Beta Sextantis. Zeta draconis contains an enemy ship but Beta Sextantis (if gnaw is true to his word) will not when the combat round starts.
This would leave my only retreat option as Beta Sextantis, yes? Even if I win in Zeta Draconis, that combat is still resolved after Kappa Scorpii, so the hex will not be fully Rho Indi controlled.
If the hex number order were reversed with Zeta draconis having a higher number, would it be a valid retreat option for a battle in Kappa Scorpii?

When retreating, you have to move your retreating ships to a hex that is:
-adjacent to the one where the combat is taking place
-either a full wormhole connection between them, or else a half-wormhole and you have Wormhole Generators
-has your influence disc
-has no enemy ships
Since the combats are resolved in descending hex order, you are right that there will still be enemy ships in Zeta Draconis when the battle in Kappa Scorpii takes place and you would not be able to retreat there. If the numbers were reversed, then you would be able to as long as you won there.
It's also worth noting that influencing hexes post-combat happens only at the end of the combat phase after *all* battles, so ie you could not fight and win in Kappa Scorpii, then retreat from Zeta Draconis to Kappa Scorpii.

Not that I see it actually returning to me anytime soon.
Turn 6
Turn 6
- Influence action (-30 upkeep)
- Remove discs from Epsilon Carinae (324) and canopis (311) and return them to track.
- Return grey cube to science track.
- Flip any facedown colony ships back up.
Provisional no longer. That's my action for turn 6

@D'rek
Thanks. That's pretty much how I thought it worked (including the influence bit). Just wanted to make sure.
Mostly I was wondering about the "reversed situation" where zeta draconis becomes a valid retreat option because combat is resolved there first.
Anyway, none of that applies and my retreat option is still Beta Sextantis (provided Gnaw moves out).

Deinfluenced Eps. Carinae and Canopus. Pop cubes back to science and materials. Inf discs back to track, upkeep now at -21.
You are only allowed to flip up 2 colony ships, so that's done too.
@GP - over to you!

Dread constructed. You sure you want to tango with twelve?
2 Starbases bristling with flux missiles might be tough to handle for one lonely dread.

He could take it back off me next round sure enough but he'd have to waste moves to do it, and influencing those planets may be a bitch for him. His star bases can be taken right now he'd have to upgrade them

So it is now on Twelve, Tapper passed and was only reacting if someone said something nasty to him with a ship in his hex

Here Reading up.
I still Pass.
Tatts doesn't have neutron bombs so he can't kill 5 population cubes so he can't take the GC off of me. It would just piss me off having to repopulate 3 of the 4 cubes I lost if he did attack me and it would give me a great reason to teach Tatts a lesson in manners.
