Ok, my upkeep is up.

I had to change things a bit, not realizing a gross miscalculation I made in figuring out my upkeep during the round. Not sure how I managed that, but the way I was forced to rearrange things, I'd be effectively useless for 2 rounds (due to not having enough science to upgrade my source tech)

Rather than applying confold field I choose to keep it for a future upgrade.

That victory against the ancients came at quite a cost to my economy

Hold on just a sec...I think I messed something up completely with my planets and end-of-round cleanup, Causing me to think my economy was different than I had planned.

Will post a final final final upkeep in a few minutes.

Ok, sorry about my little mixup there. I have no idea how I screwed that up so badly, but looking back at the historical files, I was able to reconstruct. Upkeep and decisions RE discoveries and all that posted on page 1

Grah... Finally. Upkeep posted on page 1.

Very sorry about that. I don't personally view it as a mulligan. Because of our forum version, everything at the end of the round kinda happens simultaneously and I messed up my playerboard in the shuffle. My decision RE the cube I wanted to place on my diplo with Khell and my decision RE the confold field were based on poor intel. That last explore was planned some time back, but when I went to actually do my upkeep I realized the money cubes didn't add up.

Anybody have a serious objection? It makes a big difference as to whether I can stay competitive in the game and I'd rather not have to bow out over a clerical error.

Other than that his upkeep is easy to figure out. Once I have an answer to the above, I'll do the supernova / hive rolls and draw new tech.

I'll use Sinies to move my interceptor to gamma valorum. With the aim of influencing and ultimately populating that system at the end of the round. With a money cube.
Probably an explore after that too.

Page 29 this was on. there was a lot of discussion about it for many pages afterwards.

Hmm...that far back, maybe best to wait for confirmation. I was hoping he mentioned it in the last couple of pages.

He's not going to be hurting for money so much this game with his free actions, so he might want to put it into something a little more scarce.

SS did mention that he would do his upkeep today (though that was almost 6 hours ago and counting). And I agree with Tatts that he wanted to settle it with money but you are right in that he might want to change his mind as he said that a while back. He also will have one colony ship that he can flip for a resource so even if we did settle the hex with a money cube we have no idea what resource he will want with the colony ship so we are forced to wait.

So I was taking a look at SS board and if I were him I would settle Gamma Velorum for money and use the unused colonly ship for materials. The reason being is that he would then have 5 materials to build another cruiser (pulsar action) and upgrade action (probably pulsar action as well) and two move actions to get all three of his cruisers into Chi Draconis and he would then have enough money left over to settle the hex and populate a money, science and material planet. Though he might want to play around with spending a normal upgrade action instead of a pulsar one to add two ship parts to his cruiser blueprint instead of one. Or he might want to wait another round so he can go at it with 3 cruisers and 2 interceptors if he wants to play it safe. As there is unlikely to be any explores left when it comes to him this is probably his only way he can gain any economy growth this turn unless he wants to attack Tapper which is highly unavised.

Maybe it would be easier to avoid those clerical errors if you posted your turns on page one as you've asked us to do. Yours was still action 2 when combat phase was started.

@Tapper. I'm going to put a couple of interceptors on my warp portal. You do the same with yours. If CF comes in my portal, you drop your interceptors in his WP hex. If he goes after you, I'll drop mine in his.

That is not true. I had a lapse between action round 3 and 5, but when it came time to do my combat update, the only extra action I had to add was my explore action.

EDIT - not saying I didn't get behind, but I was definitely still not showing "action 2" when I sat down to resolve the combat.


Would not have made a difference in this case anyway. I often frig around with scenarios on the working file so I can see the result of my plans. I think it came down to me either hitting "undo" 1 time too many or too few. Not sure. After that mixup I won't be trying out scenarios on the working file. On a backup maybe.

EDIT EDIT - And cut me some slack. It's not easy to keep track of it all with the limited time I have to mod the game.
