It's not too tough.

Equation is:

• Victory points on controlled systems (marked in a yellow shield) +
• victory points for retained discovery tiles where you chose VPs instead of the bonus item (each worth 2)
• victory points for battle participation / wins (left side of player boards)
• victory points for each diplomatic relation (each worth 1)
• Victory points for research paths (marked on the playerboard)
• victory points for special structures like the shellworld, warp portal development and monoliths
• victory points for special battles - like the GC ancient dreadnought.

EQUALS - Total VPs.

Basically just tally up everything with a yellow shield on it. Anything you own with a yellow shield is on the player board or the galactic map.

Step 1: Count the points on all the hexes that you have influenced after the upkeep phase
Step 1a: Count the points for any items that give point bonuses on those hexes (ie monolith, artifact link, shell world, warp portal built, etc.)
Step 2: Count the points for the tech that you have on your player board
Step 3: Count the points your reputation and diplomacy tiles on your player board
Step 4: Count the points for any race bonuses
Step 5: Count the points for any discovery tiles kept for points
Step 6: Count the points for any point bonuses you may have purchased (Artifact Monument mainly)
Step 7: Others. I'm bound to forget something but I think that is most everything.

Epsilon Eridani (3), Iota Bootis (1), Capella (2), 1 retained disco tile (2), and his racial bonus of starting with 2 combat VP tiles (1 and 3) for a grand total of 12

Oh you only have 05 VPs. That is too bad. I hope you do better in the following rounds else you will get gobbled up by CF.

Edit: I think I need to clarify. I was being a smart ass by transposing Khell's 50 to 05. Tatts got the number correct at 4 for the two hexes that Khell has influenced as the supernovae isn't worth dick.

Lol, I'm equally unclear as to what is confusing you. I asked if that was a discovery tile on the ZA hex? If it is not, then I may not bother placing it, and may just discard the hex.
