Memories of Ice, Chapter 17, page 686/687...

Quote

'You have no idea what you threaten, mortal. My brother's sword hides far more secrets than you can contemplate'.

So Nightchill and Draconus are siblings?

Then this...

Quote

'K'rul? The one responsible for Tattersail's rebirth?'

'Yes. My brother.'

She is K'rul's sister too?

That was quite a conversation.between Nightchill and Paran.

Quote

K'rul? The one responsible for Tattersail's rebirth?
`Yes. My brother.'
Your brother. But not the brother who forged Dragnipur.

So three siblings.

It is hinted in the prologue itself.

Quote

Above him the god-spawned scavengers cackled as they wheeled.
A familiar voice spoke in K'rul's mind.
Brother, I am upon the north shore. 'And I the west.' Are you troubled? 'I am. All is ... dead.' Incinerated. The heat remains deep beneath the beds of ash. Ash ... and bone.

A third voice spoke. Brothers, I am come from the south, where once dwelt the cities. All destroyed. The echoes of a continent's death-cry still linger. Are we deceived? Is this illusion?

It is something that you forget and, once you partake in a re read, find out again refreshingly. There is an epic ending to this book that may make you forget these little details. yet these details are huge. At the beginning I just took the meaning to be a comrade, not literal Brother.

There are a fucktonne of brilliant hints in anything the EGs say in MoI. The prologue is huge, but Krul's chat with Envy, Nightchill's with Paran, and Draconus with Paran are all loaded with good stuff.

I need to reread the Keruli bits to see if there's more there than i remember.

So then. Literal siblings or figurative?

If literal, that would make Nightchill and K'rul the aunt and uncle of Spite and Envy.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I would say that there really is no familial connection in the traditional sense of shared genetic material, but their relationship to each other is more of a metaphysical type of bond. In other words, I don't think they shared parents, but maybe they were all

Spoiler

Krul and Envy's conversation is fantastic.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

This is the MOI forum so no mention of the ...

Its likely figurative like theyre brother and sister EG that have been allied for a time.

I'm still confused. Is Nightchill the same as the Queen of Dark Nights (supposedly mortal)? I've been wracking my brains on this one, still can't figure it out Posted Image

'Sister of Cold Nights' is apparently her title as an Elder Goddess. 'Nightchill' was a cover name she used while a High Mage for the ME.

I'm on my re-read of MoI right now, this was definitely something that had slipped my mind.

But I'd thought that they were maybe siblings in the 'we're all in the Elder God club' sense.
