I need to exercise my writing muscle so I can publish stuff and make lots and lots of money at the box office!

Now its a party.

Macros: What have we got here?

Grim: We found her in this nest. Evidence shows she died in the throes of bliss. there are lesions to the back muscles as though inflicted by claws but we're pretty certain it's the sex that killed her.

Macros: Get me some coffee and we'll get to work. It looks like its gonna be a ...long story.

Sent in mine. Ran out of time, managed very little proofing, the ending felt quarter-arsed... However, it was fun and would welcome the exercise again. :-D

with the weekend down time and work I'm only logging back onto the forum now, will be posting the submissions in about an hour, finishing mine, upgraded to windows 8, sort of wiped all my data in the process. Quite technologically adept is Macros.
With this in mind, mine's is a VERY short story.

Holy wall of text, I could build a temple around that. :-D I don't know what happened to the formatting upon the mysterious avenues of the hyperspace, but I hope it's okay that I re-posted it here, together with all my offerings to the goddess of grammar errors. :-D

I'll begin reading the other one a wee bit later.

Maybe you could post it anyway, after you've finished it? The idea seemed interesting. ^_^

Hey! sorry, missed this. No I think I'd rather focus on the next topic. I just don't think my story will work. Reading the stories I have to say I really enjoyed your contribution! I like how you translate the concept to the birth of new understanding or rather realizing what we thought to be false was infact very very true. I liked it alot. some C&C:

I think the names are mystical but perhaps reliant on understanding of myths not everyone could relate to. If I was to suggest anything it'd be the possible attempt to take out names and use descriptions and subtle hints to make us realize the Jutten and other related creatures are at work. I like the prose. first person was a good device for the story.

I look forward to reading more from you, If this is a field you're familiar with I think It'd be super exciting to read you take on something completely different.

Mac, I have to be honest, I think the end was too obscure or maybe too rushed to land significant weight. I do want to find out so much more. I was writing my own take and found my story fell in this bracket. The shortness of the story undercuts its quality and the interest it builds kinda dies flat without some...tension? I don't really know what was missing but as an intro it doesn't feel comfortable. Not sure what better way to say it.

Oh and for the next theme:

Quote

Enthusiasm

Intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval.
"her energy and enthusiasm for life"

My guess? A story at high speed and super excitement.

Interesting vid on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Worth a look, helps to develop a frame for characters in any written setting.

was thinking about this thread the other day, basically deciding it needed to be in the hands of someone more focused than me. I would love for this to turn into like a writers group/ workshop eventually

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

We're halfway to current deadline. Posted Image

Quote

Topic: Hate

Setting:Story must be told from the perspective of two characters. The entire story must occur in one room.

Word-limit: Null

Deadline Sunday 13.

Submissions to be sent to THE BARD by 12:00 midnight GMT

FAQ:

The term Room is open to interpretation. So long as it is a space occupied by both individuals at once.

The Perspective may switch as many times as you like, however a minimum of one perspective switch must occur.

If you'd like an extension of time I'm open to shifting deadline down a week so we end on the 20th?

Glad to have you on board Melonhead!

We're a writing group so feel free to bounce drafts in here or via PM, whatever works best for you.
We may set groups of two up for in-depth comments and reviews in the last few days of the week.

Its all about getting each other motivated and aware of how others feel about your stories.

Some feed-back rules I found useful:

Quote

When you review try address the introduction, the plot arc and the end.

Explain why you cared about the characters or why you didn't.

If your feelings changed about anyone or thing highlight it and share why.

If you could not read it through, please share at what point you stopped.

No responses are required from the Authors. These are simply opinions and not instructions.
Best to simply acknowledge the review and adapt as you see fit.
