So what sort of questioning should we do? Trivia? Philosophical? Pet peeves?

Without the CF the big difference is that we can't tell if we've lynched scum, which makes our job a good deal more difficult.
Perhaps this mystery mechanic will help compensate for no-CF no-reveal.

I'm thinking it would pretty much have to - otherwise the game is entirely based on gut (while not inherently a bad game, inherently a very difficult one to play for town) as there is literally NOTHING to follow, ever.
That being said, there is no point in hesitating from lynches, especially on day one, just because of a lack of CF. Trains still provide info even if they don't have a truth value at the end of them.

Yeah I agree.
I'm curious to see if this mystery mechanic is something game-wide or something built into some unique role.

From what Bubba said it sounded to me like it would be a game-wide thing rather than a unique role. Or maybe a role/ability that's passed around from day to day?

Thats the impression I got as well.
Ok, this is scary, starting off the game agreeing with Khell... color me concerned.
Mafia 100 Champion. There can only be one!!!

A role/ability passed around from day to day is rather specific for a game mechanic speculation on day 1 don't you think?

Why? It's not like I have any clue what the actual ability could be even if that was the case.

Well, the nickname of the game is apparently "Back to the beginning", which could be a clue. Given the fairly standard-seeming setup with no CF, I'd say that's a fairly classic position - maybe one of the first games Bubba played/can remember had some sort of interesting twist to it that he's enshrining in a mechanic? Not that it matters much since all of the really old games are nuked. *shrug*
Not much point in specific speculation until we get some base indication though. I reckon it has to be something to counter the lack of CF and reveals, though. Maybe, with the OP theme piece in mind, we get a rundown of truth and lies that have been told during the day? Like instead of a Finder, someone can ask Bubba if that person has told a lie or not (and it maybe becomes public knowledge?) or something...bah, there I go, getting into specifics! Idiot. XD

For the record. There are no non-standard roles. The hidden Mechanics are just to bring out the best of your Mafia playing abilities, and how well you play the role you have been given.
This game is all about you, and your ability to play the game.

My guess is gonna be something that comes up with lynch / night scenes. Definitely looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

I was headed to bed and I got a little panicky cause I forgot to keep up with the game thread this evening. Lo and behold, not much has happened. Mechanics pondering has been interesting, but Bubba telling us that there are no new mechanics throws a lot of that to the wind. So, I think that given the no CFs there HAS to be at least a finder, and the no reveals thing means he or she has to try to lead the game thread towards lynching the scum using their own cunning instead of hitting them over the head with reveals. Gonna be an interesting game, specially considering it is an altless. It is going to be difficult to put aside my vendettas to play properly, that's for sure.

Actually, bubba said there are no non- standard roles. Hidden mechanics are not necessarily included in that. /pedantic

Oh good lord. Just realized I'm one of the longest-playing participants in this lineup. Wtf.
I know what you mean, I can't wait either. Come on D'rek!
Attempting to actually hunker down and play properly here...no CF means we most likely have a finder, right? I do wonder mightily what this 'hidden mechanic' is about though.
And frankly a Finder would be a bit underpowered in this game - no reveals, remember? It's a nice way to force everyone to actually work for the win without relying on revealfests, I think. And dropping the CF means we don't have any solid leads from the lynches either. Presumably there is some other mechanic that will substitute...
And nobody every has a proper reason to vote for me.
Fuck you.

A few things you need to know:
Never listen to a word Khell says. He is SOMETIMES right, but it's so rare that it's best to just ignore him, mostly. Tatts talks a lot. You only need to pay attention to about 5% of what he says to understand what he means. Brujah is the priest. I'm all knowing. And chickens don't wear pants.

You are forgetting some of the Oldies like Tapper, Silencer and Hinter all three of those have been around since time began.
Bonecaster you could vote night and see where that leads you
People rarely listen to the experience accumulated over a lifetime, as we ancients like to say. And Silencer is always under the radar, so it's better to just vote him off and be done with it.

I am curious about this no cf thing too. Does that mean we just keep playing with no idea of what is going on till someone(s) declared a winner?

I always rub you up the wrong way, as you can see i'm totally taunting Bonecaster to make the mistake a lot of us made in our first games, it's blatant right?
