I like everything I've read by Claire North do you think I'll like the Kate Griffin books?

No idea, I just bought it myself.

They're a fair bit darker than her other books. I like them the most of her writing though. She starts with a somewhat confused wizard character after his sudden resurrection from a violent death and then goes from there.

I keep wanting her to go this gritty again, but her success with the other books she's written probably means that isn't likely.

I mean, 84K is one of the most bleak and depressing books I've ever read...

Some of this is a bit deceptive, in the way they normally year round mark a price, say, $40, then automatically apply a member discount of 50%, bringing the price to $20, and this applies to every book, ALL the time, and only members.
And reducing the price to the cost of a credit ($15) is no deal since you can always buy more credits... it's not a sale, it's just a sneaky way to seem to be one.

That said, a whole pile of books that were already around the price of a credit are reduced to $10 or so, so it's worth a look.

Just from my (desperately needing to be pruned/updated) wishlist, Bennet's CITY OF STAIRS $10, CITY OF BLADES $9; Hurley's LIGHT BRIGADE $11: LICANIUS trilo1 and 2, $12; Stover's ACTS OF CAINE 3 and 4, $12 each.


TL;DR: if it's less than $15 and you want it, it's worth it.

Good point. There is also the case where you have way more books that you want compared to the credits you can purchase, which is my case. You can only get credits through subscribing or special offers, so it is limited.
