The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin is down to $2.99. I highly recommend grabbing this while it's cheap as it was worth the read at full price too.

TODAY ONLY (Sep 21st) (and probably US only, but I'm not positive there) you can get Kai Ashante Wilson's Hugo-nominated novella The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps free from Tor.com: http://www.tor.com/2...ilson-for-free/

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

A few more Amazon US deals that I've taken advantage of:
- The first book in Myke Cole's Shadow Ops series for $1.99 (limited time)
- Lovecraftian anthology Cthulhu Fhtagn! for $2.99 (limited time)
- Stephen King's Lisey's Story for $1.99 (limited time)
- Edgar Allan Poe's Complete Tales & Poems for $0.99 - Illustrated and annotated, and well-formatted for your ereader.
- FREE: Don McQuinn's Warrior (limited time) - The first volume of a post-apocalyptic epic fantasy trilogy that was originally published in the 90s and seems to have garnered decent reviews. (It was originally published as three books, but translations and later e-editions broke it up into three trilogies. This is the first third of the series. The sequels are only $2.99 if you like the first.)

Not an ebook, but over at Audible (and of course, your Kindle can play Audible books) John Scalzi's The Dispatcher (read by Zachary Quinto) is free.

Spin is Tor's free e-book of the month selection. I enjoyed it when I read it.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
