After the conclusion of the Hundred Year War, Aang and Zuko brought people from the four nations together and founded the United Republic of Nations, with its capital being Republic City, a large metropolis powered by new technologies such as cars and motorcycles. After Aang's death in 153 ASC, the next Avatar, Korra, was born in the Southern Water Tribe.
In 170 ASC, Korra, a rebellious seventeen year-old girl is set to complete her training and fulfill her role as the Avatar. She has already mastered water bending, earth bending, and fire bending by then. Korra travels to Republic City and starts her air bending training with Tenzin.
However, Republic City is not what Korra imagined it to be. Anti-benders called "Equalists", who oppose the arts of bending, utilize new technologies to further their goals. They are led by Amon, a mysterious but charismatic figure who is never seen without his mask.

Korra must fight rampant crime and the Anti-bending Revolution, assisted by two brothers, Mako, a fire bender, and Bolin, an earth bender. She is also joined by a loyal non-bender friend, Asami Sato, whose father owns Future Industries, thus giving her access to the most up and coming technologies. Together they form Team Avatar, who work alongside the citizens of Republic City to stop the Equalist threat.

Following an Equalist gathering where Amon showcased his ability to permanently remove people's bending, the United Republic Council convened over the best course of action. Tenzin and the Council work with citizens of Republic City, alongside Team Avatar, to stop the Equalist movement before they can remove bending from the world, though not everyone agrees on how.

Who will win this epic battle, the Equalists or the Benders of Republic City?

================================

This game will work with as little as 13 players, but will be best with as close to 20 people as we can get.

I will start the game on December 17 at 12am EST (i.e. before I go to bed on Sunday night). The game will be frozen from December 21 to 26, and December 29 to late in the day of January 1.

If I don't get enough signups to start the game next week, then I will start the game on January 1 or 2.

Quote

Each faction has its own win conditions, however, at the very core it's Benders (Team Avatar & Republic City) vs. Equalists. So you could say that it's both a town vs. scum AND a 3-way faction game.

Given that I will post the main faction objectives in the OPs to the game thread, I will post them here for your info:

Republic City - Republic City must have at least one member alive and retaining their bending abilities when Amon dies.
Team Avatar - All members of the Equalist organization must die.
Equalists - Korra must die. All benders must have their bending ability removed, or be dead.

Seeing as the Equalists will be highly outnumbered at the outset, and their win conditions are a little tougher than the others', their members are harder to kill than others. There are a few roles that can break away from their factions and become independents. There are a few members of each faction who have additional win conditions beyond their faction's win conditions. There are 2, hard to kill, power roles (Korra and Amon) a few medium powerful roles, and many weaker roles, though everyone starts with at least one ability.

It's TMDI 10+ given the number of different roles and abilities, but there shouldn't be many abilities that people haven't seen before (I did build one or two out of the ordinary abilities into the game).

Days will be 36 hours, Nights will be 6 hours (or resolution when all actions are in if it's prior to the 6 hours being up).

As I said before, I already sympathise with the Equalists. Stupid think-they're-so-much-better-than-us benders :)

Will try to - or at least Wikipede the thing. The only thing I know about Avatar comes from the trailers for that Shyamalan film. I'm assuming that's not the best advert for it.

You don't need any specific knowledge of Avatar to play the game. Just know that Benders have the ability to bend the elements, non-benders don't, so they rely on technology. You should be able to do minimal research based on lynch and night scenes that will give you enough information about characters to know which faction they're in, and give you an idea of what kind of abilities they might have.

Everyone in the game will start with abilities, and it's the Equalists' job to winnow out bending abilities, Team Avatar's job to stop the Equalists, and Republic City faction's job to keep their bending abilities while helping Team Avatar stop the Equalists.

This game has the potential to be extremely epic, so if you're up for some fun, please join!

Incidentally, if you have a faction you would prefer to play in, please send me a PM, I will do my best to accommodate.

So is this town (avatars and republicans vs equalists?) or a 3-way merc? Can you tell us more about the game? Day/night timer, TMDI, CF, etc?

Good question. Sounds like it's town1 + town2 vs. more-than-normal-number of scum. With town 1 like RIs (only with, erm, abilities), and town 2 roled town (only super-roled town).

It is a combination merc / town. The republics and avatars have different winning conditions. They will not see completely eye to eye. Although they both want to eliminate the equalists.

I would put the Tmdi as 7+. Slightly experimental but not crazy. Also days will be 36. Blend will have to answer for the night timer. CF is fullish I believe.

See Blends much fuller description.

Sacrosant will now cost 25 worship. However worship is extremely valuable in Korra. The current cost is first born male child for 5 worship or first born female child for 10 worship.

Females are breeding stock as such they are more valuable.

Like I'd trust what you say about worship. We all know what you do with first-born children, Dreadfather.
