Agree wholeheartedly with both Emur and Ruse above.

Fuck. Off topic:

I've had this desk in this room for 8 years. Went to plug in a new external drive. Digging around under the desk, behind the desk, behind the file cabinet looking for an outlet. Then got curious and started tracing cords back. I have 2 power strips plugged into the one outlet on this wall. And SEVEN power strips plugged into those two. No fucking wonder the lights dim when I turn my stereo on.

Can you say "daisy chain fail"? :p

Step 1) Buy a UPS that also regulates voltage output.
Step 2) Plug everything important into it.
Step 3) Plug other shit elsewhere.
Step 4) ?????
Step 5) Profit.

In my office where I have a number of desktops/servers/things running 24/7, every time I turn on the printer my UPS beeps and the voltage input drops. ;) I don't know who wired that fucking room but I need more than one circuit, assholes!

I'm caught up.

Good faith means good faith. It'll come back to you if it isn't, some way or another. Although, they did put a wanted poster for you so I feel somewhat bad for your plight.

However, there are other ways to ensure water at dawn, as someone illustrated above.

Finally: Whoever offered me what you offered me, thanks, but I have to pass for now. Long term relationships scare me.

Back and read up, finally. It's been a hell day. I guess there's nothing much to discuss as we wait for the Karosis lynch resolution...
Dragonsecks anyone? ;)

Especially amusing considering he was the first vote on the train.

Yeah the fucker.

Hey has anyone else noticed that on the last three lynch trains that Ampelas has put on a vote after Anomandaris has? At least that is the way it looks on PS posts when he does a count update.

Checking in briefly. I'm unsurprised by the sorrit lynch but I also wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who made northern desert sacro. Telas wasn't getting that much pressure when it went up tbh, only 3 votes I think, and the train had no momentum behind it. Everyone was voting sorrit and saying they'd also be ok with a telas lynch.

In any case there isn't much to do until night resolves, so I'll be back tomorrow. Working now so I won't be very active for the rest of the week, I'm afraid.

Sorry PS, I normally agree with everything you say, but the time stamps argument is weak. It's quite clear from the conversation in the thread that Karosis bought that water well after the lynch - he even asks for it AFTER the lynch!

But whatever, I won't continue to belabour the point after this [adds 100 water, 5 artefacts, 13 silk and 3 sexy dancers to his storage] ;)

Yeah, there's no way this is legit. I was watching the Bazaar as I hammered and I can confirm no water was listed at the time. As Atrahal said, Karosis didn't even REQUEST the water till after the hammer, so whoever put it up to help him out could not have even had the thought in his mind to do it until Day ended.

Lame. Karosis gets to eat a bag of dicks now.

The thing is, I looked at the last contracts on the market that offered water:

G61V - 2 Water for 1000 Dinari each (not bought. can't format the red type away)

G62R- 2 water for 1500 Dinari each. (not bought. can't format the red type away)

-- neither was crossed out and this was AFTER the controversy. G54T, G55P both offered water and were crossed out, but there are 6 contracts between them and the last water one.
So what is the mysterious contract that was offered and bought after the deadline?

Anyway, it is academic - player stepped forward, said it was after the hammer, and we'll reverse things.

I am enjoying this game immensely. It is quite obvious that Tapper (and others) have put huge amounts of time, creativity, and sweat into it.

I also have a rather flexible set of ethics in both real life and gaming.

But when you've been caught, you know you've been caught, and you know everyone else knows you've been caught, to brazen it out like that is rather ridiculous.

Which is exactly what happened, but what was disturbed by me going off-line.

just checking in now, but ive got to head off to work ;) Seems like we managed a Sorrit lynch but he was likely sacrosanct. I think at the moment the problem we've got is that someone keeps putting up lots of 6 worship for cheap, and it's making it damn near impossible to lynch anyone. Whoever this is, could you please stop it? :p

During the Battle Phase:

Today, I summoned the ayatollah, and told him that this business with the monasteries being attacked has to end. I forced him to declare Jihad, wiping the Northern deserts clean of infidels. He made the proclamation in front of my entire court, and none of the nobles present was man enough to not pledge their swords. A caravan of house-troops, bodyguards, hired regiments and nobles in their richest splendour set out at dawn. They will likely be carved to pieces by the tribes, as they only number one or two thousand, servants included, but most nobles seem smart enough to augment their own presence by supplying several hundreds of mercenaries as soon as they pass the Iron Barracks.

A Hadj is declared from the Khalif's Palace to the Northern Desert.

Battle Phase: Khalif's Palace
Dusk: Square of the Camels
Night: The Road to Ishktar Oasis (pay the bey!!)
Dawn: The Mirror
Day: The Northern Desert

During the Battle Phase:

Nepeth regiments struck out from all strongholds, attempting to do the will of the Ambassador and bring the enemy of the Empire to a grisly end. For weeks, they sought and sought, but no trace was found. While several poets started sharp satirical poems, the Nepeth were unperturbed. They were just halfway the time they had designated in which they'd capture him, and few hiding places remained.

During the Dusk Phase:

Two men met on the Square of Camels for an agreed duel. One was armed in shimmering wards, the other, the challenger, in steel, sword in hand.
"Hello there. This will be interesting. I have always asked myself what would happen on a meeting like this," the challenged said, voice full of menace.
The other shrugged. "You'll find out." He lifted his sword in two hands, assumed a stance.
His opponent lowered a thin, slender staff, as long as himself, with a sharp crook in the lower end. "Bring it on."
"You brought a second?" The staff wielder made a gesture. A low, painful moan was heard, from somewhere in an ally.
"Good, but not good enough." The swordsman indicated a shadow nearby. Six arms bearing flanged sceptres flashed.
"Fancy," the staff wielder answered. "You ready?"
"Always."
They charged. avoiding the blow they tried to deal each other. In the shadows, their aides battled. Rain started to pour down. In a single pass, the man in wards cracked his staff against the helmet of the other man. He stumbled, went to one knee, and slashed. A crack appeared in the warded armor. The man in wards waved his hand. "Easily repaired. That all you can do?"
In response, the man in steel unsheated another double handed sword, and stood, two giant blades stretched out in a salute.
"That's more like it." A coil of lightning appeared from the left hand of the staff wielder. Once more, they charged, this time, all that was on their mind, was death.

I sent in the City Guard. Half a platoon died to seperate them, but both lived.

A duel to the death was fought in the Square of Camels. It was a tie.
As a result, both participants suffer all effects of the loser.
Both players were healed by The Khalif's Justice.

Great scene. I was reading slowly there hoping to see a death at the end.
