I'm here again, and finally discussion has picked up (sadly I wasn't around to help pick it up). I think lynching low posters is better than lynching those who might be modkilled because the low-posters can't be dealt with by modkills and aren't contributing, but the modkillable players roles can be moved to another player in order to keep the factions as even as possible.

I'm kinda surprised that this comes from someone who is a low-poster himself.

I only have been posting very little because most of the stuff on thread has been spam.

Bullshit.

Yes there is some non-content posts but it is hardly spam. If we can sift through over a thousand day one posts that are 99% true out-and-out spam and find the content in it to follow up on in most regular mafia games you can certainly do the same with the measly 300 posts in this one so far. You want content to post on? Go read the content that is there so far and make new content by responding to it. Or make some entirely new content. This 'I have nothing to say because everything is spam' excuses I see from you and others is not only wrong it is absurdly lazy. We can all play that way and the thread will have literally nothing for content or you can take some initiative and actually push yourself to play.

Anyways my opinion is that just because the mod-kill timer is extended to during day 2 we should still lynch today. Doesn't have to be a low/no-poster but there doesn't seem to be enough thread presence for anything else. I liked the reasoning someone gave on thread before of not making Tapper suffer the grief of having to mod-kill (as many) players by lynching them for him. Either way I'm pro-lynch simply for the direction and content it gives the game-thread. A no lynch will just lead to another stagnant day.

Agreed. Among the players who are not low posters the person who stood out the most for me was Fener, because of the impression that he might have a lethal NA and his disinterest in the thread.

vote Fener

I'm willing to switch votes to a low-poster.

I'd be okay with that. He is Fener after all ;) We would get better information and follow-up from a Fener lynch than a no-poster and the no-poster might get modkilled anyway (personally I think all the no-posters will check in with 1 or 2 posts and disappear again before they would be MKed)

Okay I'm back. The talk has finally come around to who should we lynch. I'm actually really surprised that there are still 3 players looking to get modkilled. They should forever be banned from playing mafia ever again. ToD is way too awesome to signup but not even try and play. Pull an HO and drop a few one liners here and there if nothing else.

Now back to the lynch discussion. First off does anyone know how much time is on the timer? Next if we lynch day one with very little info on most of the players I would be more willing to go after low/none posters than the players that are actually excited and wanting/able to play this game. For those of us that are active it will feel like they were cheated if they end up getting lynched day one when there were players that were no shows. But it's still more important to go after players that are not in your own faction than going for some random low poster hunt.

There should be about 3 hours left.

Okay then...

I will be around until timeout. If it looks like the lynch is gonna go Fener's way instead, I'll move my vote, but I still think it would be better to just lynch someone who is probably going to get modkilled anyway.

Great. Work has been getting a bit in my way. I still need to do a reread of the thread I should be around if we ever decide on who to lynch. But after looking at the post counts it seems that Korvalain and Osseric are currently the two no shows. Currently my top choices at the moment.

Hey all.

I agree that if we're gonna lynch someone just to give the game a direction, it should be one of the no-shows.

Though if we really do want this just to initiate a culture hunt (which is probably what would follow), then wouldn't we have that information (the weakened faction) just from the modkill CF? And besides, there won't be any evidence linking the no-show to anyone else since they haven't posted anything.

Regardless of my reservations, I will be around for the timeout to help secure a lynch if that's what we decide to do.

Shit, obviously. No, really, I've just been swamped at work. Only 8 business days so far this month and I've billed 100+ hours already. So...fuck me. But yeah, sorry, doing my best to keep up.

Ok i am currently around for a bit. On the idea of whether or not to lynch today im leaning on not lynching today because we have relatively little information. Although i could be persuaded otherwise.

Persuasion go:

If nothing ever happens on-thread the game will be a fucking boring mass of behind-the-scenes spreadsheets. Fucking SPREADSHEETS! Get the ball rolling towards not letting that happen by making the game thread dynamic and important and it all starts with a day 1 lynch.

Crap I've just got a project dumped on my lap. I haven't finished my reread yet but if we are going to go for a modkill target as our lynch target then I'll make sure I get back on to lynch Osseric or Korvalain. Though I have a few notes as to which faction a few of you might be but it's mostly meta crap so I don't want to make a lynch decisions on that anyway.

Fener is at the most votes right now. Either drop your vote on him or on Osseric of Korv before you go.

There are a little less than two hours left and we have four votes right now, but I seem to remember more people who were for lynching. So I suggest for those people to actually come down and put down their votes.

And with this I'm going to bed.

Putting content on the thread would help to gain information, you know. So far you have only checked in in two posts and said that you don't want to lynch, also in two posts.

Edit: Added some plural -s.

Okay I'll

Vote Osseric

For no other reason than to save the modhammer on at least one player. Crap reason if there ever was one.
