I think it would tie in well with Anakin's fall, Kylo's fall, and Luke's more shades of gray force use (force choke, using anger as his fuel to defeat Vader), etc.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I think it's definitely about the old Jedi code. I think Luke realizes that it's untenable. I think the Jedi stick around...but only after being revamped to suit a different more malleable set of rules,

I agree it's about the old codes but I think what they say may be a surprise to Luke. I believe it mentions a balance in the force between light and dark I think rather than Jedi = light Sith= dark it might be a balance within yourself.

The Bendu is more like a giant tree/rock thingie. Voiced by the Fourth Doctor Tom Baker.

Been watching the panel stuff on youtube..
I'm terrible, I'm almost applauding when they come on stage... what a lineup!

Love Carrie's tribute. And Filoni just oozes such total commitment and love to the entire franchise that it's hard not to have confidence in him.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Wish Christian would have had a bigger part. Probably gun shy at this point.

I REALLY can't believe there was no Obi-Wan announcement. I figured that was a LOCK for Celebration...but since they are holding off HAN SOLO info till D23 in the summer...perhaps they are holding off on the next anthology announcement too.

Which sucks because so many people reported seeing Ewan in Orlando....I guess they were all full of it.

Sad that he wasn't present for the 40th panel at least with his castmates.

Otherwise, it was a solid weekend all told, with LOTS to be excited for!

I'm actually pretty descently pissed off they didn't give the title to Han Solo but we are still a good yr and a half away. This was the event to do it at plus it was extra special being 40 yrs. I think everyone was expecting to get it here.

Yeah, I know they are trying to spread out the "news" and "reveals" but they could have AT least given us the title.

I really loved the trailer, and I agree with BK that Lukes cryptic line has more to do with his different outlook than a literal interpretation.

I hope we get some more Poe in this one

I enjoyed the trailer too. I wish they'd make a star wars more like Logan though. Calmer. Quieter and a lot more personal.

Indeed. I can see it now: a lone warrior, past his prime, on a quest for personal redemption through a seascape fraught with dangers -- of the soggiest kind.

So how is the new Thrawn bk?

I'm enjoying it, but it's a very different story than the old Thrawn books. This is about how he joined with the Empire and climbed up through the ranks. It also involves the female governor from the last season of Rebels.

Any reference to Chiss Territory in Unknown Space, or Outbound Flight?

A little bit to Chiss Territory as far as explaining Thrawn's departure from his people. I'm only about 40% into it though.

I know you're reluctant to invest into any new canon, but I feel you'd be safe Edith this one. So far it seems to tie into rebels more than anything else.

I had the best although weird dream as I was switching between being male and female. I stared as both Anakin and Rey but I looked like Jyn in a post ROTS setting. I got to train as Rey/Jyn and use the Force to prank 2 other padawans as we were running in formation, I lifted their feet up at the same time to trip them. I saw Obi(Mcgregor), Mace and Yoda in a library. I had to kill my best friend Forrest Whitaker at Sams Club with my saber cause he accidentally told Vader a massive rebel secret as we were all shopping for milk and it felt truly heartbreaking to have to do it. Then I had to fight Vader as Anakin and it was truly fucking terrifying doing it as Palps was browsing for pies in bakery and zapping lightning.

SW dreams are the best...

I assume they were out of Dutch apple pies, I always get pissy when that happens.
