EpVII has a scene in which Leia and Luke reunite, and EpIX was to have a scene in which Leia confronts Kylo.

If they can get permission/have the rights to her image, I say just animate her. They did such a great job with Tarkin I don't see why they can't do it in the 9th film. They have 3 years to get it perfect.

I honestly don't know what they will decide to do. sounds like Leia's role in IX was big. Perhaps too much for CGI scenes. Either way, I'm sure they'll honour her appropriately.

Seems a weird choice. The Force Awakens hints at a new age to match the new trilogy. This seems out of place, especially as we know other force users and jedi survived order 66.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Oh agreed...If I'm honest, I think it's likely just direct a reference to the TFA opening crawl mention and just is referencing Luke (Snoke called him The Last Jedi in TFA in dialogue as well).

I don't think it applies to the future though. I think since this movie is rumoured to be Luke-heavy in focus (and Rey) that the title just refers to having found him and dealing with him.

I don't think it negates any future Jedi from coming to be.

I've heard tell (over at Making Star Wars) that this occurs in the first 40 min of the movie on Ach-To. The Knights Of Ren arrive on the planet, and Luke and Rey have to fight them, and Luke will be an audience-cheering badass during the whole sequence.

I've been hoping something like the scene in a LOTF bk plays out. Luke pinned down Jacen to his chair without raised hands as a "focus" cause he's fucking Luke Skywalker and Jacen basically has an "ohhhhhh shit" moment. Hopefully Ben can exp something similar.
