2I is your homeworld d'rek according to Morgoths scheme. I don't know why STD thinks he has 2J but I guess he means 2I.

I thought we'd agreed that since STD hasn't actually broken his alliance with Tapper, he keeps the token? The rules seem to suggest that

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

stupid coordinate system... I counted wrong the first damn time and there was never a map update to correct me...

well I'm dead, enjoy

D'rek, you only had one reaction available , meaning you wouldn't have been able to get a dreadnaught there. You would have been able to build a single starbase, but do no upgrades.

Your words are useless for you are naught but a crunchy leaf who hides in shadows (with victory now guaranteed)

I see some phase shields and D'reks future.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I ment to say "in" your future not "and" your future. But you might want to consider getting the plasma missles and the Tachyon drive to slap on your Dreads. You would gain the initiative advantage. Plus each of your dreads would be one ship wrecking crews. Does your ancient computer give you extra initiative? If it doesn't then forget what I said as the tie goes to the defender. Though you could add two Tachyon drives but you would have to do multiple upgrades next round just to counter whatever STD does to try and counter your counters. And teaming up with IH wouldn't be a bad idea. Just because he vacated the center doesn't mean he has forgiven STD from taking it.

Though that leaves morghy off the do his circle jerk in piece and quiet.

All soft and moist. See he's all lubed up and ready to go.
:)

So are you waiting on IH to tell you what his discovery tile choice is before you set up the next round?

Shields suck. I would only research them for VP.

That's going to happen anyways. This whole game is just a giant lesson of "THIS is why you don't let Planta grow unchecked." which is what I said at the start, but nooooooooooooo. Really though, I'm just bitter because as Hydrani *I* wanted to turtle, and couldn't, but Morgy gets to turtle perfectly and completely unchecked :(

Why do you says shields suck? They are the perfect counter to the missles ships computers. Add in the improved hull and one on one you would more than likely survive the inital missile barage. Then without cannons he would be forced to retreat if he even can. To get your homeworld back all you would need to do is build starbases in the backdoor sector and where you already have a starbase to stop reinforcements from getting to your former homeworld plus build an interceptor in one of those two sectors. Then move one of your dreads back to your former homeworld. Research the shields and upgrade. That is 5 actions and you regain what you lost.

Though the best way is to get missiles yourself and find a way to get the inititive advantage away from him hence my counter suggestion.

You have the research storage to get them both if I've added correctly.

2 tachyon drives. One double ion cannon and 3 missiles plus your ancient computer and you are looking at a 6 movement dread that will hit 50% of the time with 6 missles and 2 ion cannons. One dread will take out all four of his missle cruisers before he even has a chance to fire a shot in all probability. That would be a scary sight. Though to pull it all off you would have to have one research and 3 upgrades and then a movement. That's 5 actions. It should be doable. Plus if you have IH attack him somewhere else he'll have to split defenders and you could take more back than he took from both you and IH.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Shields suck because you can't research a -3 Shield but you can research a +3 Computer, and you get initiative from computers but not shields. The above would probably work, but it's probably just as easy to move enough total hull into the hex that there aren't enough missiles to kill them.

I find it hard to believe that sentence was ever innocent.

I'll take the VP.

I will note that I have had a lot of success in my games with shields vs computers.

Well, I never was ready for a war against the Planta, resource wise. Being under attack when I finally had the disc space to make something happen in one way or another didn't help much, either.

IH, a follow up: Where do you want to place your two white cubes once the upkeep is done?

So I'm on:

M: 5/+24
R: 0/+15
P: 16/+10

Upkeep:-21

So I get my resources, then I lose a brown and a pink cube, and I'll put one of the grey cubes on the money track and one on the research track.

M: 9 /+21
R: 15 /+10
P: 26/+8

Starting upkeep: -5
