If Ment and D'rek passes the round is over and I'll initiate the combat. I've found a good dice logging program I think, which will come in handy when I'm fighting battles too.

I've been using this to mess around with probabilities and stuff, seems like it might be quite handy for moderating too: http://codesavior.co...e/simulator.php

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Interesting... Hey Tapper, looks like you've got a 45% chance of beating the Ancient!

But we don't know how reliable the randomizer on that tool is - if Morgy is going to use an online tool it'd be better to use something like random.org (which has a dice roller tool, and you could easily use the list randomizer for disco and rep tiles)

Vassal randomizes everything too. I just figured dice rolls are the one thing that needs to be available for everyone to check. No matter how trustworthy you find your resident game moderator.

Next game I'll see if I can host up the entire vassal thing though, so it's only for this one. I'm still new to the system but I think it should be fairly easy for the next game to be open for everyone to observe, even if I (or another organizer) am the only one allowed to use and edit it.

Also, I could've sworn I saw Ment on, but I guess he wasn't ready to pass.

I was on v. briefly b/w work and soccer.

I guess i'll pass, since I need to figure some stuff out. I reckon my next few moves I gotta build up, so that I can attack the Ancients who are boxing me in.

I'll post later this morning, going to get to work first: I need to try and figure out if I can survive sending in the second cruiser, or if that will mean forced bankrupcy on my home-planet as well unless the discovery tile is money. Winning probability for 2 starting cruisers against 1 ancient is 95% for 2, so I'd be good with that. Plus, if I win, can I offer an ambassador to D'rek straight away as a non-action?

I think you have to offer it during your turn or the turn of the other party, but I'm not sure. I'll check the rules after work

Ok, that would mean it can't be done as a reaction to combat. Scratch one potential saving grace :p

Speaking of alliances, is our alliance on Morgoth? Didn't see anything on the player sheet.

The connection may happen either by Explore
or Influence actions, or at the end of the Combat Phase (see
page 21).

Looks to me like you can make alliances immediately after combat.

Please drag my second Cruiser to the Ancient tile as well.
I am now at the -7 upkeep mark.

3 money,
3 science,
0 mats

pop track of 2 money, 6 science and 3 mats.

Pass after that.

-----------<what if I win>-------------
Claim system, with the last colony ship, placing a money cube on the grey planet for a track of 3 money, 6 science, 3 mats.
Extend the offer of an alliance to D'rek (if accepted, place a money cube on the ambassador, please).

Upkeep becomes -10.
If I do not miraculously draw a money disco tile, pay for upkeep with 6 money (3 current plus 3 gained from pop), 4 science converted to 1 money, and the removal of a disc from 1F.

-----------<what if I lose>-------------
If I do not win combat: throw the table over on its side and walk away in a very bad mood.

Wait. With 2 explores, 2 new settled systems, 1 build and 2 move you will be at -10 before any potential settling.

Thunk. Do it anyway, and I pay for upkeep by removing the disc from the 2J system after combat + colonization.
EDIT: unless I draw a +money discovery tile.

You trusted the player sheets to be right when the map still didn't show your cruiser had moved?

Tapper, food for thought - you could always take the system but wait until next round to claim it. Since you're removing at least one of your other hexes, a single influence action would let you take it back and the ancients hex.

Woah - it should only be 2 tiles, no? (1 for fighting, 1 for killing an ancient) and only the best one goes on the player board (though since Morgy sees them we should all be told what they were)
