So is colonising a sector and then having to get rid of it straight away though. Having to spend another influence disk later to re-colonise costs money, so it probably comes down to whether it's better to have materials now or money later. Or to put it another way: does she need the extra interceptor she could get with the three materials?

The amount it costs to re-colonize depends on how much I plan to do next turn, though. Furthermore, I may not even want to re-colonize it, and rather just wanted to get the disco tile.
