Oh, that was good!

Ah. I knew that had a "we're taking a break" feel to it.

It was weird to see how different Nick looked in the earlier seasons, as seen in the flashback this episode when he was questioning the cop.

Rosalee killed it this episode. Though, the idea to use water guns was very quirky. It sort of reminded me of Ghostbusters for some reason. Love that the excandesco exploded and that Nick added the water gun to the war chest — was that his first addition?

AND THEN WE GET TO JULIETTE VS ADALIND! Fuck yes! Adalind's face as she ran out the door was priceless. And then that cliffhanger :p

EDIT: I just had an idea — what if Wu joining the ranks and Juliette becoming a hexenbiest were used to bolster the rest of the Grimm group in preparation of a coming increase in the scale of attacks, such as might occur during a war between them and the Royals?

I believe so. That was a nice touch.

THAT HEXENBEAST FIGHT WAS EVERYTHING!!!!!

I take back everything bad i have ever said about the character.

Seriously, they should have just ended the season right there with Juliet sitting on the couch of triumph looking badass.
NOTHING they do the rest of the season is going to come close to this.

Just finishing a rewatch binge. I had forgotten that stupid voice over from the first 3 episodes of season 2. They lost that in a hurry.

Aunt Marie was a time lord! At least her Airstream has TARDIS technology. Bigger on the inside...

Interesting twist. A bit too soapish for me though.

Yeah, I think it's pretty dumb that Nick is reacting this way.

I think Nick's reaction makes sense given the history with Hexenbeaties, but jeez that's brutal. Especially bcs on some level, I think Juliette actually likes the power. The latest Adelind twist... Not that I really want to live through that plot line again, but nicely done, even so.

Though I totally believe Nick's not being impressed about the fact that Juliette is a Hexenbiest, and a lot of his reactions - "Why did you wait so long to tell me? You told Shawn Renard before you told ME? Waah wah wah." - were totally believable, but when he legit drew his gun at Juliette, I was like, NOPE, there's no way that Nick would ever do that. After everything they've been through, it just seemed so contrived to me that he would draw a gun on Juliette. Then Juliette's being all like "Touch me while I'm vogued" thing was a little much too. Like, hello, Juliette, you KNOW the shit Nick's gone through with Hexenbiests, you can't just expect him to all of a sudden be comfortable with it just cause it's YOU!

Anyway, I think it's going to be a good way to develop Nick's character - he's going to have to learn to live with the fact that the love of his life is a Hexenbeist, which I suspect will lead to him empathizing with Adalinde a little more, which will be necessary for when Nick, Juliette, Monroe, Rosalie, Adalinde and Renard all have to team up to take down the Royal Family, cause let's be honest, we all know it's coming. Followed by Adalinde double-crossing them in hopes of getting her child back, which will end with a Juliette/Adalinde throw down in which Juliette will absolutely destroy Adalinde, which will terrify Nick even more, and throw him back into an "I hate my girlfriend the Hexenbeist" thing. I suspect much emo is on its way.

I had a thought a couple of weeks ago. Four seasons with no deaths in the core cast? I'm wagering somebody has to go. Monroe or Hank would be my guess with Wu or Rosalie in close second. Juliette would be the major shocker but a possibility?

I'm getting seriously bored of everything to do with Adelind and her baby/ies. This has been going on and going nowhere for two seasons. Enough.

At this point, everyone should be desensitized to Vessen. I feel like everyone is making a huge deal out of it. They all know Nick doesn't just kill Vessen because he's a grim. Why would Juliette think that just because she's a hexenbeast that Nick is now her sworn enemy and they should try to kill each other. It's kind of ridiculous and a stretch I feel to try and make the story dramatic.

I'm ok w/ Nick pulling the gun on Juliette when he see's her vogue the first time. If it was me I'd be like "wtf!" and my first thought would be that it's Adalinde or something else pretending to be Juliette again, since Juliette is a normal human... Like I said above, how everyone acts afterwards is ridiculous. She's the same person, she just has powers now. They're all racists!! :D

Actually no. While the show isn't really consistent about this, vessen seem to have personalities on line with the animal nature or whatever.

Ya, but I feel that's a product of how they've lived their life. The mice being skittish because they're the bottom of the food chain, having to watch their backs their whole life, etc. The predator types being more cocky, etc. as they've preyed off weaker types.

She's been a human her whole life, and is getting power drunk as she's getting stronger/developing her powers. All Hexen beasts on the show don't seem evil. The captain's mom and that lady who was helping with the disappearing address (they could be though). The Captain is a relative-type-half-hexen-beast or something and is good. I mean WTF, after alienating herself w/ Nick, she forces her way into staying w/ the captain (ever hear of a hotel?) and then threatens him because he doesn't know how to change her back.

Sure she's going through dramatic life changing events, but come on! I can understand her acting loco with what's going on with her, but I feel that's her character flaw, not a byproduct of being a hexenbeast. I'm also a little biased because I've disliked Juliette from the start. They're obviously over emphasizing the hexen beast transformation for extra drama...

I agree that there's probably a nature/nurture thing at work as far as the showrunners ever thought that out, but we've seen the 'little pigs' take out a number of big bad wolves so it's hardly set in stone.... more like a plot-convenient element.
It's not like there's a rule book for being transformed into a corpselike superpowered demon-thing due to a sex ritual with one's spouse which took place while shapeshifted into the human form of a corpselike superpowered demon-thing... she can be forgiven for going just a wee bit batshite... and that's before blowing up a car, brainsploding a werewolf, stabbing a scorpion assassin in the heart with his own tail AND wiping the floor with Adelind. Juliette had a well-hidden nasty streak before all this (the episode where she clobbers a voged wifebeater werewolf with a frying pan ..."I'm not impressed" ... aside: is it just me or does Juliette get some of the best fights on this show... ) ... becoming a supercharged hexenbiest is likely going to amp the wrong things in the wrong way.

So, if becoming a hexenbiest made Juliette evil, can we assume that unbecoming a hexenbiest (for good) makes Adelind good?

Seriously though, they've really kicked the intensity up a notch with the past few episodes. Digging it. What a cliffhanger to end the most recent episode on!

That cliffhanger was just sick.

Adelind's not 'good' by any stretch - she did some nasty shit while she was unhexied, including planning to sell the first baby - but her hexenbiest nature is offset by the pregnancies and all the feels for her babies. The fact that neither of the fathers were themselves hexies (Sean is only half) probably helps too... different flavor of maternal instinct at play.
