I haven't watched it yet. I'll probably get around to it this week before episode 2.

The first ep back was a bit of an anti-climax, but not bad overall.

There is potential for some good storylines coming out of the episode though, so I wouldn't be too harsh on it.

There does need to be a bit more progression on the whole royal family story though, as it is getting tedious.

Who (or what) do we think is in the dungeon next to Adelind? Sounds seriously creepy!

My bet is a demonic wesen.

Up to date so SPOILERS for the first two eps...

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

Solid start for S4 in most respects...

Naturally Renard is not dead. I was certain who blond lady was when she showed up and that she'd save him to his 'death' was obviously fake, but nicely handled even so. Mommy Renard is fairly badass and tieing her to the baby storyline should be fun. I suspect she could give Nick's Mom a hard time.

Nick being de-Grimmed is a good plot development for the most part. I like how it's making him work different and undecided about whether he misses it. Also makes for fun play off the supporting cast.

Trubel is still good. She was a bit less effective these first two eps... despite how utterly competent she was in the season finale, the Mind-Flayer (yes it had another name but that's totally what he was) had a fairly easy time overpowering her more than once... as a plot device to remove her 'horror' at her past kills and make her more effective, it worked, but i think the scenes would have worked better if she had put up more of a fight. They could have saved some time by skipping all the overdone scenes showing Mindflayer-guy angsting about his stolen memories... he's the bad guy... we don't care.

Hank was steadfast and solid, not much demanded of him. Wu's new curiousity should lead somewhere interesting.

I realize Juliette's 'maybe Nick shouldn't get him powers back' thing is obvious and even necessary, but it's also predictable and boring and fuck i was only just starting to like her again.

Monroe and Rosalee were mercifully brief and i liked how they ignored Juliette.

Adelind/the Royals... please, FFS let this go somewhere, anywhere.

...i'm kind of worried that between the more over the top SLEEPY HOLLOW and the darker CONSTANTINE i may lose my buzz for GRIMM this season as being more urban fantasy but less of what i like than either of thsoe shows, but eps 1 and 2 were enough of a decent start to hold my attention.

Did anyone else feel like Josh was going to steal the trailer?

I was totally getting a suspicious buzz from Josh since he grew a beard and reappeared.

Maybe he's kidnapping Trubel to deliver her to someone in his town?

Yes, I was starting to think, oh damn, maybe he was recruited to get the key back, and would take the whole trailer.

Yeah, Juliette as a Hexenbeist was UH-mazing! I'm super excited to see where that goes...

Still not giving even half a shit about the Royals storyline though. And I'm pretty much over the Wessen KKK thing, too.

Just watched S04E09, and damn, it was good! With regards to the whole zombie-super-angry-blue Nick, they showed this episode that they haven't forgotten about it. Guess they're playing the very long game with that subplot. Also,

"It's what happens when the synchrotization doesn't synchrotize."

I'm really hoping this part of the script was written tongue-in-cheek. Otherwise, the writer should be fired. :(

EDIT: This was a really good episode. Things are moving along with the Royals/Adelind storyline, Juliette finds out more about her new powers, and the murder-of-the-week sub-plot was good. Seriously,

Just got caught up.
This plotline with Juliet justifies all the suffering she generated in the past. All of it, even the lost memory garbage. Holy fuck, she is KILLING this role now.

It's otherwise been fairly standard GRIMM to date... solid fun, nothing brilliant and a whole lot of handwaving and conveeeeeeenient ... i've enjoyed Wu getting his long delayed initiation ... the Save Monroe episode was suitably fun - Great WALK OF BADAASERY moment - even if the timing made no sense whatsoever and Nick let Juliet run around in the forest hunting cultists with a pistol.... the Lightning Wesen was a cheesy but decent episode... and the Bounty Hunter thing.... that ending... fuck me that was epic.

You know a Juliet v Adalind thing is coming... and it is going to be so SO GOOD.

Yup, cannot wait for Juliette to tear into Adalind! I've been a bit disappointed by Wu's new role though, as it seems like they're going to turn him into a walking encyclopedia of Wessen knowledge.

It's less than he deserves, but if "You're no Aswan." becomes his new catchphrase, i'm ok w that.

Wu becoming the one who spends all his spare time actually studying the books is what I expected him to become if/when he was finally initiated, so I'm not terribly surprised about it. I think it's going to add an interesting dimension to the team - instead of reacting to everything (i.e. trying to figure out what wessen X is AFTER it's Voga'd instead of already having an idea) We should be able to give the team the ability to act quickly and prevent too much "I have to spend the night in the trailer" cutscenes... Anyway, all that to say that I actually like where Wu's character is going.

Wessen council stuff is becoming interesting.

Juliette as a Hexenbeist is beyond awesome, I cannot wait until Juliette destroys Adalind, it's gonna be a thing of beauty!

Re: the comment that Juliette can't get rid of her powers, I couldn't help but think about how Nick stole Adalind's power in the first place (i.e. bleeding into her mouth or something like that) - couldn't he just do that with Juliette (you know, once she actually tells him what's happening to her?)

excellent point. curious to see how they dodge this, assuming they even remember it.
