Just read this article, which if true, corroborates much of Gulex's arguments above (or so I read it). Apologies dude. Scary stuff indeed.

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Guinness is low calorie?
I'll admit thinking it was worse because it feels so...heavy? When you're drinking it.
This is good news and I can now have a swift rebuttal when someone warns me about putting away too much of it

Goose is an awesome vodka, biggest gripe with Ireland, most bars only serve Smirnoff, and people think Smirnoff is great vodka because all the bars sell it.
its average vodka that kicks you in the brain nuts in the morning.

UoW: Appreciated. Glad you're taking it seriously. It is indeed scary to know that our politicians are more concerned with lobbyists and their immediate reelection than with our health.

When i want low cal beer I switch to Guinness Draught.

Only 120 calories!

As much as i love my brew, I've switched to whiskey lately while i'm trying to drop the last 10.

Beer is the one and only thing that I couldn't give up. I'm one of those people blessed with the ability to eat whatever the hell I want and not gain any weight, but I would just be fat rather than give up my brew.

I assumed the same thing about Guinness. I wish I still lived someplace where I could find it on draft. The Americanized bottled version is garbage.

Smirnoff can allegedly be improved by filtration, but you'll spend more on the filters than you'll save on the vodka.

Well this is interesting.
But it reads to me like we were fine until the 50's, so our diets were fine until the corn syrup

Joking of course.

I didn't know hfgc was in so much, I mean I know that longer life products are not good but damn is it in a lot of stuff.

Homebaking may be the only answer.

I'm glad you guys kissed and made up.

Scary stuff eh?
Is nothing sacred anymore? Apparently even the well being of humanity takes a back seat to Capitalist gains.
Question is, are we surprised?

Yeah I read it too. It was in the Guardian so it must be true.
I just meant that after reading it, I was not surprised at all by the apparent disregard for the health of the population.

Yep. Whenever I have a client who says thy just can't lose weight I tell them to give up wheat for 30 days and get back to me.

It's the wheat that "saved a billion lives", butif you have an alternative, it's incredibly healthier to give it up.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Interesting, but isn't wheat in like everything? You can't just skip the wheat aisle at the grocery store, it's a base ingredient. So how does one give up wheat (other than reading every single food label ever)?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Eat vegetables and meat.

But wheat is just so tasty! Seriously, eat some right off the field, it's delicious! It's also how my dad makes his living so I may be just a little biased about this.

I'm more concerned about the other medical ramifications of the modern wheat diet, weight has never been an issue for me, which I attribute to my relatively active lifestyle.
