I'm just going to point out that if you don't read the promo chapters, the terrorists win.

I didn't read them early, but I did pre-order this thing.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It's 20 days you could have spent thinking OMFG THIS IS THE BESTEST DRESDENBOOK EVER I AND I KNOW THIS BECAUSE THE FIRST 14 PAGES ARE PURE AWESOME FRIED IN AWESOMESAUCE AND SERVED UP WITH A NICE FROSTY COKE.

And when you ultimately DO read it, you'll be thinking FUCK I COULD HAVE DONE THIS 20 DAYS AGO!!!!!! AND NOW I HATE MY LIFE AND EVERYTHING IS MEANINGLESS!!!!!!

But hey, don't take my word for it.... http://www.jim-butch.../cold-days-ch-1

Oh man, I wasn't going to cave. I was going to wait. I've already pre-ordered the book, and I was going to save it all for the plane ride home after my holiday. And then I caved. And it was SO GOOD, and it will be just as good when I re-read it on my trip home :)

Day 470 since Ghost Story........

T minus 20 days before Cold Days....

I wipe the tears away from my eyes. I stifle another sob. I saw her go. One minute she was one of us. Now...

Now she is one of them. It hurts just write this. The pain starts as a dull ache in the middle of my chest and spreads throughout my blood vessels. There isn't many of us left. Not many but what is left is the Elite. Those few who have suffered so much more than others. Who have the strength to Hold On. It is a strength so deep and so profound that we Can Hold On. WE WILL HOLD ON!!

I wish Jim Butcher could see this thread. He'd get such a kick out of it.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

6 more days until A Red Country is released. It is not the same as the sweet, sweet Dresdencrack, but should be enough of a distraction to help hold me off.

You could read the advance promo in ten minutes and be right back at Abercrombie. Stop deluding yourself.

See, all of you? SEE???

Look how happy Starling is.
Look how fulfilled, how content. Starling doesn't need a plane to fly home being so high on the advance-dose of dresdencrack.

Do you think Starling's enjoyment of COLD DAYS is going to be any less than yours? Seriously???

FFS if anything, Starling will enjoy it MORE because of days to read and reread the start and amp up the anticipation even further.

It saddens me that you're punishing yourselves like this.
It's not like the high on page 15 (or whatever) is going to be any less beautiful if you read the first 14 pages before it two weeks earlier.

Just click http://www.jim-butch.../cold-days-ch-1
Just frikkin click it already. Only you can make the pain stop.

i just reread ch 2 for like the third time and how, HOW THE FUCK, does Butcher do it?

In like a page he manages to reference
Spoiler
.... for those of you still resisting peekage, there's no direct spoilers there, just a list of film refs that appear in one bit.
I promise it won't ruin anything for you but i blocked it so no one loses their minds or anything like they would if i posted how awesome the scene is where Harry creates a snow golem and calls it 'Iceman' just kidding that doesn't actually happen but if it did you would know if you went and read the chapters just saying.....

I'm with you, Abyss. Read that chapter for the third time this morning. I'm definitely ruining my enjoyment of the whole book by having a blast with it now... Oh wait, I'm not. Posted Image

If anything, reading the preview chapters is building my excitement for the release of the book... those not reading it are just nuts...

Before it was preordered like a mofo, looking forward to it dresdencrack.

Now it's smash down the depos doors where it is kept to give me my dresdencrack!

I need to now know what is going to happen that so much more. Oh my Dresdencrack!

Why resist? Go get your fix!

Because resisting release till the last possible second heightens the pleasure.

Obviously.

Where exactly can you read Chapter 2? All I'm seeing is a link to Chapter 1, and no link to Chapter 2, even though it says that Chapter 2 would come out on November 6 and it's currently November 8.
