More on the steelers
James Harrison had scope on his left knee this morning and it "went well,'' according to one source."
ESPN is reporting that Harrison's status for Week 1 of the regular season is "uncertain".
The news on Redman's groin issue doesn't sound good either. No word on the MRI but Bouchette had this on Redman: "RB Redman tried to practice. But fell painfully on all fours as trainers attended. Hasnt returned."

That is a good pick up.
By the way I don't want to worry you but he took a knee to his quads in practice on wednesday and had to be helped off the field. But hopefully he will be able to say healthy until Mikel Leshoure comes back from his 2 game suspension and takes over the starting position. But all in all decent upside and a solid steal in the 12th round.

Well finally some good news out of Pittsburg
"When Pittsburgh announced running back Rashard Mendenhall was removed off the PUP as well, that was a shocker. No one expected Mendenhall to practice until October at the earliest. That includes Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert, who told a Pittsburgh radio station earlier this month, "If he's doesn't open on PUP for the first six weeks, I'd be surprised." Well, join the club of those surprised that Mendenhall has been taken off PUP a little over seven months removed from tearing his ACL.
"What does activating Hampton and Mendenhall mean? These players can't go back on the PUP to start the season. This move says the Steelers believe both players will be available at some point in the first six weeks of the regular season because they will be on the active roster for those weeks. If Pittsburgh had kept them on the PUP, the Steelers wouldn't have had to use spots on the 53-man roster on Hampton and Mendenhall to start the season. "

To curb the enthusiasm:
Despite his Friday activation from camp/PUP, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rashard Mendenhall (ACL surgery) still won't be ready for Week 1 and "could miss most" of the Steelers' September games.

Very interesting strategy (or total fuck-up ) from HD who with 1 pick remaining is short of a defence & kicker and backup QB & TE ....... seems a little silly to have 6 WR's & 5 RB's only to have to drop 1 before we start.

Yeah.... players get hurt in preseason. I can get my kicker and defense, who I know nobody is going to choose, after having assured healthy depth at those two skill positions.
Or you can think I'm just an idiot with no fucking clue what he's doing.
Or you can think I'm just an idiot with no fucking clue what he's doing.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I considered what the ideal roster was myself, and considered going without K and DEF as well (see above for my questions on the subject). I mean, a full replacement bench on all positions may be safe, but it also means you have 1 QB, 1 TE and 1 WR/RB sitting there doing nothing as a guarantee. QBs, Ks, DEFs and TEs at the very least will always have free-agent starters available

Not saying I disagree with your views ..... think we all would have gained by having a 15th round ..... as it is I think it's daft that we will have to drop a player to cover our kicker or D on their bye weeks. If you like your D for instance you will have to drop a player and get a second D or risk losing it on waivers. Bliss will have to play a position down in week 6, not enough players to cover line-up.
