The primary driver for women's body shape and perception of the 'ideal' is other women, not men.

And I completely agree with whoever said upthread about women fearing that doing weights will turn them into muscular freaks. It's a real problem with getting them to do a balanced exercise programme. One of my friends is a pro MMA fighter, and she swears by her Olympic deadlift programme (swears at it, too, but she still loves the results :harhar: ). But she's one of the few who've actually taken the time to study the literature.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Fit girls are hot as hell. But hey, not the only ones.

I approve of this trend.

In a purely scientific sense, fit is better than skinny. Granted, fit to the extreme and skinny to the extreme are both unhealthy in their own way, but the process of attaining the former is impossible without exercise and good nutrition. Those two things are essential to a healthy lifestyle and striving to be fit is bound to do more for N.America's obesity problem than striving to be skinny with accelerated diet programs.

In a sex appeal sense, hell yes. Fit laides are fine. I'm not into manly piles of muscle and popping veins, but a toned-up athletic body type gets me every time.

Being fit and healthy is cool, and sexy. There's a difference between like body-builder ripped, and just being athletic, fit, etc.

A guys 'hotness' is greatly (if not completely) determined by his outward confidence. So I guess it would be more accurate to say we want geeky but confident.

Physical appearance is always trumped by personality (unless you only intend something of the 'one night only' variety. Then it could go either way). Atleast that's how it is for me. I mean, you have seen Garrus, right? XD
