So Atrahal, what do you think of Korvalain's slip?
I think it's too early in the day to be assigning meaning to tiny mistakes that could be as eaily attributed to failure to read the brief thoroughly. I'm in favour of a tit-for-tat style of play, generally, so I like to give early benefit-of-doubt until guilt becomes clear. I don't think the case against Korvalain is substantive.

The whole point is that the slip up couldn't come from anyone other than a recruiter or the batman.
Along with that, Korvalain responded with a shitty defense, which is damning in itself. It feels (to me) as if the pressuring thing worked.
I'm fine if you disagree with me, I just want to know why, and your reason is not good enough. Giving the benefit of the doubt to a mistake that could not have possibly come from town just seems wrong.

My dear (soon to-be) minions, welcome to a new broadcast of Two Face Radio! Ladies and gentlemen, todays topic is personal hygiene. Have you changed your undies today?I am sure you have, but what about your neighbour? Hmmm? You can't tell, you say? He is not your prison bitch, you say? You don't want to go there, you say? It is not my business, you say? Hah, you are absolutely right! Because underpants belong.... wait for it... wait a bit more... yes indeed, UNDER. YOUR. PANTS. However, there is one person in the room who hasn't grasped that particular concept. And for crimes against hygiene, he deserves a quick and thorough tria... oh wait, you're a bunch of criminals. Well, that makes things a lot easier. Let's dispense with the whole concept of justice, shall we? Just toss a coin. Heads, you tell me who he is, tails, you lynch him yourself.
Have a good day!

What makes you so sure that it couldn't have come from town? You don't know what information recruiters or B-man have got, unless you are one of their number. Hence, drawing conclusions about fragmentary information is premature, IMO.

It's only a shitty defence if you don't believe. As you're biased in favour of your own argument, I'd say that's not conclusive.

I hope the above makes my position clearer in that case.

I am sure because I AM town, and I know what information I was given. If he were given the same information as me, then he wouldn't have made that comment.
Fair enough to the second part. Other people at the time said it seemed off as well, though.

Interesting. Looks like a daily message kind of ability? Like Barsavi had in the Locke Lamora game?

Yeah. I bet those messages will be useful later in the game, to direct their cultists.

The urge to dive in and participate is clearly strong enough to stop people reading the material closely enough to prevent small slips early on. As such, it behooves (oo-er) all of us to be certain of our actions before indulging precipitately.

Kinda wonder how you're meant to join up with a guy called Two-Face. I mean, what kind of loyalty to grunts can you expect from a guy with a name like that?

But if said person got a town role PM, they would know that everyone is a villain WITHOUT having to read the OP... this is just proving my point.

Not if they'd never played before, and didn't understand how it all worked, hmm?

I can see the argument from both sides, so I'm fine with dropping the discussion on it, but even the dissecting of the syntax aside, the POINT of the Batman role in this game is to kill the recruiters. This makes him unequivocally an offensive role. Regardless of his defensive abilities, he is not a defensive role.

No one gets that benefit. It doesn't matter how many new players are in the game, if we give them that, they won't learn, and other players can masquerade as a newb to get away with stuff. This one is my opinion.
