Fine, if no one want to say anything, then I fail to see the point of waiting around. I'm convinced that Emur is Batman, based on all the things pointed out before (the sudden upsurge in play straight after thread unlock, the way he mentions weapons cache every second post, the way he pointed out ever single item in the cache just to make sure we knew he knew, the way his posts become less coherent the more pressure he's put under, the way he says 'my CL' so often just to remind us he's recruited even though Penguin himself seems unwilling to back this up - I have no doubts he was at one point recruited, but Penguin is dancing on a knife edge here - he wants to get rid of the other factions as much as he wants to get rid of Batman. How do I know this? Because I know he lied about me - and finally the way he so overtly states that he's just doing his CL's bidding by voting for me, i.e. passing on the responsibility).

I was going to hold out for a weapon, but fuck it, I'm not the type to not vote

If I had to hazard a guess, I would suggest, Emur, that one very good reason for not confirming you as a recruit is that he'd rather lose you as the Batman than have you be re-recruited off him tonight by PI thus lighting him up for his main secondary competitor at this stage, don't you think? It's a simple explanation. Of course, the other simple explanation is that you are lying and are the Batman.



I'm starting to wonder, however, whether or not we can rely upon the CLs messages. I get the distinct impression from others on this thread that there was information in the public broadcast that either they do not want shared (and are thus denying) or that is not correct. Now, for my own part I can confirm at least as much as the Penguin has said about me is true - thus why I cannot wholeheartedly throw away the other things he has said, as I know that not EVERYTHING in there is a lie. But the fact that certain things have been denied by those concerned makes me wonder if, perhaps, the CLs are constrained in the content of their broadcasts - perhaps by the old mafia adage, "mix just enough truth in with the lies to get everyone to do what you want"? That would seem a solid explanation. So therefore it may be that Penguin CANNOT outright claim that Emur is his recruit, but has instead given us information similar to that in nature: namely that Emurlahn today has a gun.


As I see no reason why EITHER CL would lie to us about THIS (about other things perhaps, but not this), as it would lead to the Batman surviving another day, I'm going to

For the time being. I still think Emur is scummy as fuck, but we honestly cannot outright ignore all the info the CLs give us based on the fact that SOME of it is lies or half-truths informed by the faction war. It would be insane for them to give the Batman such a pass on-thread for the sake of their little spat when it is quite apparent who each CL is; but I think we have to take everything else they say with a good measure of salt.

I get where Penguin is coming from, but I don't think he means that Telas is the Batman. Look at his message: who has Telas been tangling with? Not, "where did his weapons go?". The latter is a much more suspicious, this-could-be-the-Bat kind of phrase, while the former is just a general musing; an indirect method of asking Telas about it.
BUT, we know to some extent the answers there. Telas presumably used a bat to guard me the other night - just because Spite didn't double-team me doesn't mean that Telas' action was nulled. I can't remember what other weapons Telas has claimed, if any, but the loss of body armour is more of a question about who attacked him, a gun cannot be used without notifying the thread, and I'd like to think Telas would tell us if he'd used a knife and on whom. But whoever he did, if he did, they're clearly still alive, aren't they?

So what we have is that the remarks about Telas are not nearly incriminating enough to suggest the Batman. Which is why I think that the whole point of the post was to say, "Hey guys, look, whether he's my recruit or not, he DOES have a gun today - so let's look elsewhere". Which is what I'm trying to do, simply because I can validate part of his message and know thereby that he wasn't lying through his teeth on all of it; and there is no logical reason to lie about Emur if Emur is the Batman today, is there? So in my mind it's as good as if Penguin DID claim him.



The trouble I see is that we don't have many other places to look. We *do* have Rashan caught in a lie, however, as we know he is not Bane. That strikes me as something which we've all passed over. While there are logical reasons there; protecting your higher Cult members (not that you should know any, I guess?), making yourself simultaneously a "do not fuck with" sigh and a "look at me not him" sign, so on and so forth, it is STILL an outright lie to the thread. Which is usually frowned upon when someone is caught in it without a good explanation.

Meanwhile, it strikes me that Penguin may have been giving us a bit of a hint as to who he *can't* rule out with his post: A's and K's, namely. Now we've had Fener fuck up Karosis already, but that wasn't nearly a specific enough set of clues for him to work that out by his lonesome. And it doesn't strike me as a very positive faction-war move to hint towards FOUR potential targets...how are your recruits meant to know who to target? So while it played out like that, I'm not certain that was Penguin's intention here. But that's just speculation on my part and unfortunately doesn't net us many other targets. Though Atrahal...his pursuit of D'riss as a potential CL earlier in the day doesn't sit right with me, and he kinda just limply changed votes when he realized we had all grasped the flaw in targetting D'riss. So that kind of stood out to me.

Meanwhile Fener has been cleared as a suspect for today, at least. Thus:



Anomandaris - absentee for much for the day, occasional comments

Atrahal - weird attempt to vote D'riss earlier, on poor grounds

D'riss - tough motherfucker, unlikely to be the Batman

Emurlahn - woeful "new scum" play today, very suspicious, but likely has a gun

Galain - still has armour and knife, all around awesome player ()

Korbas - aggressive player, pushes for lynches every day

Liosan - honestly don't have an opinion at this stage...which is odd

Omtose - very in-and-out player, offers mainly support rather than new ideas

Rashan - caught in a lie today with the Bane thing, very suspicious

Telas - potential suspect, but less likely than the others, imnsho.



That's how I see the thread right now. Rashan, Emur, Lio, Telas are my primary concerns. Then you, Korbas, because I suspect your play style wouldn't change an inch if you became the Batman and you'd be very damn effective at it and hard lynch. When I lay it out like that, I think Rashan is the most interesting candidate at this point, don't you?

That's how I see the thread right now. Rashan, Emur, Lio, Telas are my primary concerns. I concur and I'd vote for all four of them, but preferred order, as of right now, would be Emur, Rashan, Lio, Telas.

The other option is that Rashan was an early recruit, and could have been taken away and/or become batman.

I see Rashan as likely to be several things besides batman, and the lie solidifies 2 of those things.

I am going to vote Emur again, purely because of consensus. I hate the fact that this may be giving the CLs another night to recruit freely without bringing down the Batman, but at least it will narrow the playing field and if Emur isn't lying, hurt a cult...but I can't countenance going without a lynch anyway, thus:

As to the other 3, you know my feelings on Emur.

If your explanation of why Telas lost all of his shit is true, then I don't care as much about him (I don't have neough time to check if he mentioned a BP or if he mentioned losing it).

Lio strikes me as the only other town, which means he is probably batman, assuming my gut and/or brain is working at its normal capacity.
