Sooo, apparently I won in a local lottery/competition/whatever it was (I don't even remember entering) a bunch of new-ish fantasy/SF/mystery novels. Well, the list is pretty big, and I'm allowed to pick any book I want and I can also leave some of them for the next drawing. The thing is, I don't know half the authors here, so I wanted some of you to tell me what's worth reading and what's not since I'm neck-deep in fantasy series already.

Christopher Priest - The Islanders
Craig Russel - Lennox
Dave Zeltserman - Fast LaneDavid Anthony Durham - Acacia
David Brin - Glory Season
Ed Lynskey - Lake Charles
Ethan Cross - The Shepherd
Greig Beck - Alex Hunter
Guy Adams - World House
Heather Graham - The Killing Edge
Holly Taylor - Dreamer's Cycle
Joe R Lansdale - Cold in July
Joe R Lansdale - Magic Wagon
Juris Jurjevics - Red Flags
Lee Goldberg & William Rabkin - The Dead Man 02
Malla Nunn - Emmanuel Cooper
Mazarkis Williams - Tower and Knife
Stephen Baxter - Northland
Stephen Leather - Jack Nightingale
Stephen Leather - Spider Shepherd

You can rarely go wrong with Stephen Baxter. He's the only one I've read on that list. Sorry I can't be more help.

I've read Acacia. I wasn't a huge fan.

Christopher Priest is a god. He wrote The Prestige and The Seperation, two fantastic novels. I haven't read The Islanders yet, but I find it very hard to believe its not going to be just as stunning.

Never heard of most of those, but I liked David Brin's Glory Season. I admit it may not be to everyone's tastes though.

Warning: spoilers

Thank you, everyone. I ended up choosing by which cover I liked the best. Picked up The Islander among the others, and based on the description it seemed fairly interesting.
