Perfect Amp. I would say good job writing that, but as you said, I've been saying everything you just said all game long. And yet, there are more people than just me who have played a clean townie game, and even more precisely, there are several of us still alive who discounted Shelly at the very start (Amp you happen to be one of those).

Galain, I am getting a little suspicious of you atm. You do seem to want to do an L-2 experiment really bad, and don't care if it is me or Korbas. Why is that? We have plenty of time to look over the game again, and you apparently have the time right now. Care to provide some new thoughts of your own?

I just stated all the thoughts i currently have and am still reading up. I'm also really eager to try a L-2 experiment, just to see what happens. I'm addicted to making stupid gambles, but sometimes they work!
But, it's just a suggestion. It seems one of the few ways to actually test someone's scumness.

I have a slightly crazy idea floating around in the back of my mind. Ano has been the epitome of helpful townie the whole game. The way he has doggedly chased after scum, pleaded with town to change it's ways, and put forward long essays on the nature of scum plays screams 'helpful townie'. His ideas on the way scum plays can be easily related back to him, but the fact that he acknowledges and AGREES with this has made me, and probably others, label him as innocent.

But what if this was simply extremely clever play by an extremely clever scum?

Everything Ano has done over the past few days has been acknowledging that he may get lynched for his actions. His determination to get Korbas lynched. His opposition to the Telas lynch. His argument with D'riss. Above all, his assertion that the scum players are those who act most town-like. He keeps acknowledging that his actions could get him lynched, and yet nothing happens, because we agree that he is putting himself out there and that isn't something that scum do. Time and again he has failed to garner more than a few cursory votes, while we allow him to direct the thread and lead the voting. <- I wish people would let me do this. Somehow the more I say, the less I'm heard.

Now, he has suggested that scum players will be floating around waiting to hammer as soon as a player gets two votes on him. This subtly distances himself from 'scummy ideas', because he has already put a vote down. As I said, I'm sticking to my guns, till the bitter end unless Korbas comes back and proves me wrong or someone else does. I'm not switching votes unless somebody finds the second scum or has a compelling argument that I don't have the first scum.

He has also now expressed disbelief at every single night kill. Can you clarify here? I don't think I expressed disbelief at the Karosis kill. More confusion. Disbelief was reserved for Shelly and now D'riss. It is this that initially caught my eye. It is another method of distancing, to question why scum have picked who they did. Looking back at the night kills; first was Shelly. Ano suggests looking at the people who advocated ignoring Shelly on day one, reasoning that they were trying to distance themselves from the night kill, without acknowledging that he, himself, also advocated ignoring Shelly as simply role-playing. Night two was Karosis, who, it was suggested, was looking suspiciously at Ano. I think I said that kill made sense, or didn't say anything expressing surprise. Third was D'riss, who was having a rather large dust up with Ano before the day ended, and asking some particularly pointed questions, particularly why Ano was so worried about being lynched. And yet we have Ano running around, stating that scum don't want to be associated with their kill targets. Three night kills associated with Ano is starting to look like more than coincidence.

And your argument breaks down a bit with these last two lines. I wasn't associated with the Shelly NK, as you just said. I was briefly linked to Karosis, but not because I showed any interest in him as a suspect. And yet with the third, D'riss, I got into it very heatedly and even was starting to consider him as scum. Not a very good pattern, not altogether that convincing. And remember, there are two scum, not one. Why would two people agree to draw attention to me, esp if one of those people were me. If I am the amazingly smart scum you portray, then don't you think I would have anticipated this kind of NKs connection with me? In that regard I am insulted. I spend the whole game matching what I say, as you point out, yet I don't match what I say with the NK's. Seems incongruent. Seems like a hiccup. I dunno, you tell me.

well fuck fuck fuckity fuck. Sorry guys I'm now out of town on work so will be sneaking in reading and doing updates while no one is looking. My take is this:

Didn't think D'riss would cf scum. I'm not surprised he was taken out, while his weren't the best cases, i was getting a townie vibe. I agree with Ano, its pretty well down to the wire on who we vote. Either we test the Korbas theory or we push towards Ano. Ano was SURE we wouldn't come up with scum if we lynched Telas. Why? Because he KNOWS who the scum team is.

Its not going to take much for a lynch so I think we need to look at all possibilities. Anyone have a Thyr case? Also should we be looking at Galain? I'll be on again as soon as I get up in the morning. If you're posting much more tonight I will review.

And fuck you all. Last week I was DYING to have someone to talk to on this thread when I was at home but NOOOOOOO nobody was online. WTF? As soon as I go out of town you all get vocal?!

By the way, could someone in SH please tell us what Fener was? The game will operate entirely different if he was scum or town. And the clock is ticking.

I don't have any more time today to build cases, reading back takes too much time. I should have more time tomorrow, and we still have hours, at least a day, before the timer runs out. I think we need to stay focussed and not panic. A quick lynch will not help us at this time.

I agree! FFS nobody throw any last votes on Korbas before we all think this through.

It is Day 4. There are 25 hours and 46 minutes remaining.

The are 6 players still alive: Ampelas, Anomandaris, Galain, Korbas, Rashan and Thyrllan.

1 vote Korbas (Anomandaris)
1 vote Anomandaris (Rashan)

The following players haven't voted: Ampelas, Galain, Korbas, Thyrllan.

[Scene of incredible literary beauty here]

Fener (Gwynn ap Nudd) has been modkilled. Fener was a Natural.

Drinking coffee and getting ready for work. That figures about Fener.

I've got to go soon, so I'll make it quick:

I still keep returning to day 1, when we didn't define scum for this game and people didn't have anything except banter to work with. Once the interactions build up, I think it gets harder to tease out the details that identifies someone as scum or inno (not saying post-day 1 analyses can't or aren't done well, but at least with day 1, things are a little less tangled).

Back to the start, looking for people that don't fit a Shelly NKer.

Thyr- doesn't seem all that interested in Shelly and will go whatever way the wind blows
Amp- thinks Shelly is town and likes her RPing, thinks TS is the best bet
Galain- sputters, goes with the flow of day 1, not really pushing one way or another consistently, more just waffling and being confused
Korbas- Feeds the troll cause it looks hungry, joins Amp in pushing a TS lynch
Rashan- says we've alted Shelly, and actually explicitly tries to start a train on her and then ends on just voting TS

These are quick notes, not meant to establish absolute guilt, but just to get some discussion going and help me think out loud. I'll be back hopefully sooner than later...

Who were D'riss and Fener?

I think the only thing we know is that D'riss, Fener and Telas were inno. Fener was nonexistent so no one really talked about him. D'riss and Telas kept voting me and I voted Telas so there is too much connection there. Who was furthest away from those 3? Certainly not Ampelas. I can't disregard that Ano might have been defending Telas to make himself look inno yet. I seriously need to review the positions on the other trains and interactions.

So we've got just under 24 hours left now. I'm not going to have much time to discuss, but I think we need to re-review the interactions between our lost townies and the remaining players. This is going to take me some time, probably will be late tonight before I am finished reviewing from my end. I would encourage the same.

this right here.

This pushes scum buttons for me, people also willing to vote Ano - Galain, amp and Korbas.

I've been slightly (sometimes more than other) suspicious of Galain and I'm quite likely voting Korbas today.
Amp has been on many peoples radar for several days also. Its the scummiest train possible, the only thing that puts the brakes on me is the fact that theres only one actual vote yet.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this, suffice to say I am massively suspicoius of Rashan again
