Yeah, Fifth Season is fun, but flawed. Broken Earth is a whole different level.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Saw this while browsing in a store, blurb sounded interesting. Anyone read this?

I second the question. Blurb sounds interesting and it's reasonably cheap in ebook.
Edit: Also, anything good in the newest Humble Bundle?

Was wondering that myself.
The "Geek Gals" bundle is well worth dropping $1 on just to get Gail Simone's RED SONJA comic, if nothing else: https://www.humblebu...geek-gals-books

I've given this a go.
Any idea how to get it on the Kindle? It won't let me email it.

I always sideload all my ebooks and comics (transfer from computer via USB cable.)

Doesn't humblebundle have an option to automatically email the bundle to kindle?

Yes, but doesn't apply to anything over 10m (which the comics all are)

Elise Kova (Alchemists of Loom trilo)
and Joshua Palmatier (has 2 series out, apparently)
Anyone read? any good?

Caitlin R Kiernan - The Red Tree?
An old friend is throwing it at me and swearing it's great. Reviews I've found are very mixed, and the blurb doesn't interest me at all. I'm feeling obligated to at least reach out for a second opinion.

I actually have copy of that that I picked up years ago. I've half a mind to dig it out and start in and let you know...

Well, I did it. Dove in last night and didn't put it down until after almost 100 pages. Really digging it so far.

I think I have read 1 book by Karen Miller. Not bad, but was a bit too bleak for my taste. Female protagonist, lots of scorpions involved.
I have read both books by James Islington. I would rate him at 6.5 - 7 out of 10. Feels like a less wordy, more mature Wheel of Time.

What about Gary Jennings' AZTEC?
It caught my eye at Half Price Books about 6 years ago and ended up on my wishlist, and now it's only $3 on Kindle...

It's an excellent book if you don't mind Jenning's obsession with weird sex. He occasionally goes over the top in an 'eww' way, but it's very well researched. And very long. And winding. It's the kind of book that tells the story of your standard every day guy who ends up participating in exceptionnel and important events because he is the protagonist, not because he has any reason to. And despite all that critisism I actually do like the book. Take from that what you will.

Has anyone read The Garden of Stones and the following trilogy by Mark T Barnes? I picked the trilogy up on Kindle very cheaply a couple of months ago and I've just seen them on there. Are they good? Might read it after Rejoice.
