I've changed my opinion on second suspect after Rashan to Tennes.

Because of his "I'm voting Karosis because Silanah is doing it" reasoning. What was that supposed to show?

Frankly I found Emu's "welp, guess i'd better get on teh train as 5th vote to make sure we get a train going" vote to be the most scum-jump-tastic thing on this train.

I agree - I didn't like that one either.

The ministers sat about in the one remaining servicable room in the palace for such a group. Wafts of conversations passed about like smoke. Some ministers would stop on occassion to pen a poem, or write a few lines that they planned to sell later. On the few occasions the Emperor appeared, they looked to their decorum, but generally the atmosphere was relaxed. That was, until the Minister of Civil Services began to throw accusations about. The majority managed to maintain a gentile air and ignored him for the most part, voicing their own suspicions about who was being bribed by who. That is, until someone quietly whispered "he throws accusations around like someone throws money around." This quickly morphed into a cry of "he must have money! he has been bribed!"

And suddenly the gentil nobles became a ruthless mob as they ran him out of the palace.

Karosis (Sir Thursday) was Minister of Civil Services.

I is back. Before you leave, Karosis, many compliments for being helpful, calm and composed as your lynch became inevitable. Had there been 15 hours more in the day I would have removed and voted for someone else. Mucho rep incoming after this game for you

Maybe I missed it. I'll fix it later if that is the case (and put Rashan's vote back where it was). Don't have time to look now.

Aw, that was a graceful end. I almost wish we had had the time to change the lynch.

It's interesting that we didn't get a lot of information out of the CF. I wonder if we get told when we lynch someone who has been recruited. Guess we wait for night for more information.

I'll be in and out for the next few hours, I'm at work so can only post during down time. I would still like to hear from Liosan as to what was going on with him today.

EDIT: spelling

The ministers greeted the next day with poems and calligraphy ranging in emotion and effort from those truly passionately inspired to those who were inspired by the money they could get for it.

When entering the palace, they gradually realized that all seemed well and nothing was amiss.

Night 1 is over, no one has died.

It is Day 2
36 hours are left in the day.

20 players are left alive:
Atrahal, Barghast, D’riss, Emurlahn, Fener, Gamelon, Kalse, Korvalain, Liosan, Mockra, Okaros, Omtose, Olar Ethil, Rashan, Ruse Serc, Silanah, Sorrit, Tellan, Tennes

No one has voted.

Scene has been added to the lynch above.

Just short of his total public decrial, the Admiral of the Imperial Navy Minister of Civil Services shockingly exposited on an unlikely theory of exterior factions bribing the court through artistic specializations of the ministers:

View PostKarosis, on 14 March 2012 - 11:48 PM, said:

OK, well I'll lay all my cards on the table.

I'm an RI, and my speciality is Poetry. I have a theory about how the game is set up that I think will be informative for you guys to know about (whether or not you choose to pay any attention is up to you). My idea was that there are only a small number of these specialities, and that the cults can only recruit people from one of those specialities. Whenever someone is running a cult game, a key question is "How do I nerf the cult?" because getting one recruit per night is incredibly overpowered. Standard ways of doing this include reducing the cult to a recruit every other night, or adding players that if recruited kill the recruiter, that sort of thing. But this is actually quite a neat way of doing it. Say you have some poets and some calligraphers, and a cult dedicated to recruiting each (perhaps through classes in that discipline, if we're trying to keep in line with the setting). This set up naturally splits the game into two recruiting pools, and each cult has a ~50% chance of a successful recruit. It seems like a nice way of doing it.

Of course, I might be completely off base, but since I'm probably not going to get another chance I thought I'd throw it out there.

Now, I'll go and take a look and see if anyone hopping on my train looks suspicious. Might be worth pointing them out...

This argument was of course utter folly, as any amateur astrologer could see plainly writ that the heavens themselves gave no bearing to artistic specializations.

Had this been a time of war, one could think that the Minsiter Karosis might be a secret supporter of the enemy hidden within the imperial forces, but alas given the nature of this particular conflict and his later confirmed alignment as a loyal member of the court, it must in truth have been naught but stupidity on Karosis' part.
