I was really hoping to learn the backstory of this spear, since it was a manor conversation point that all the outcast characters were involved in. Im assuming it doesn't come into play in later books, so any idea why it was of note to Silchas?

We haven't recieved any hints as of TCG. How ever, they found it on the inside of Starvald Demelain. Could be the spear and its owner pops up during the Kharkanas trilogy.

They did? I thought they found it in the Bluerose mountains? And that it was an Imass spear?

This
It was found from a shard of ice in the Bluerose mountains.
Also Apt, should you be telling people there isnt any info on it for the next three books?

Okay, good, I'm not crazy.
Honestly, though, I didn't attribute any special significance to the spear. Yes, Silchas says it probably has a long story of its own, but I don't think he meant that it has more of a story than any other millenia-old Imass weapon, just that ti has been around for such a long time he is confident that it has a story (that he does not know).
Besides, the "human has a T'lan Imass weapon and the T'lan Imass shows up to get it back" was already done in tBH, and I don't see how we'd get any backstory on such a specific weapon in any other believable way.

I don't see any problem with telling people whether its talked about in later books. Not really a spoiler if you don't explain how so.
