Anyway, the result of Tiam's lynch is anything but suprising. It seemed that Tiam's play became increasingly erratic as the game progressed and as more players voted for him.
Tiam voted for himself...when he was on L-2. Under fire, but to vote fo yourself? This combined wth his scummy posts and nueroticisms seemed to point to the idea of him wanting to be lynched, indicating symp status. He even commented on "which team he would root for" when in SH. Also, Tats is one of our more experienced players. Well, more than me, anyway.
Regardless, if he was symp, he got what he wanted. If not, I'm suprised, but that's not entirely relavent right now.

If he was a symp them, which a lot of his bahviour has suggested it comes down to who he was diverting attention from today. He said he would vote Anthras or Thyr if he had to, even if he didn't think they were scum and yet ended up self-voting which makes me wonder if there was in fact something there, was he derailing a possible Antras lynch? Anthras certainly looked to be the player most in danger of lynch before the tiam bust up.

Note that Tiam suggested they lynch Merrid or Anthras to test his innocence after he was putunder fire. Standard rationale says he was diverting towards them, reverse psychology says he was diverting attention away from them. Probably said Thyr because of the "no lynch" thing Thyr said.

There was less than 40 minutes left. Pretty much everybody around had already voted. I wanted to be clear, if somebody was opposed they could say it, maybe get some thoughts out there. I'm always fishing. I intended to hammer after all had their say.

What made me lean towards reverse=psychology was the self-vote really.

I think the no lynch thing was scummy though to be honest, not the fact he tried to suggest it but the way he presented it. The Barghast thing as well is giving us very little to go on, though admittedly if it had been someone more prominent it could have just as easily been a set up but it leaves us with so little since he interacted with almost no one and said very little and little that was in any was confrontational or controversial.

Barghast's NK hasn't done anything significant, so I'm guessing that the killer has no idea who is who and is killing those he deems as "safe". Not making waves, that is who is dying at night. Thyr was right with his pattern, High Post= suspicious, Low= not.

This makes sense. However, and you can't deny this, the way you phrased your question made it quite easy to refute any claims of scummy play. This could be an honest effort or an experienced scummy one. Based on your gameplay, it is safe to assume you are one of our more experienced players, yes? Also, it is entirely possible that roles were not randomized. I mean, giving inexperienced players powerful roles is a strange way to "break them in", and would result in much low posting. Unless it has been posted otherwise (and if it is, TELL ME) I believe that the roles were assigned objectively to more experienced newbs. So I am more suspicious of people that know what they are doing than those who don't. I'm not overly suspicious of anyone in particular right now, but lets put this aside for the moment.

Who is suspicious of whom right now? I would like to hear some opinions.

Snap! I'd like to hear some ideas as well.

I am still suspicious of both Thyr and Anthras, especially with the way Anthras looked to have a certain amount of attention on him and it conveniently was derailed by tiam's lynch.

I am also beginning to wonder about GL but I can't say a great deal about that at the minute as I haven't read over all his posts but I do intend to. I think you are right the reason higher posters are being lynches is they are generally the more experienced ones and it makes sense that they would possibly get a more powered role, though since this is a newb game i'd say it will be one experienced newb and one relatively new as a pair maybe.

Roles were 100% randomized.

Well, it's useless to speculate about the experience level of scum team if it's randomized. Let's look at play.

Also, the lynches are of experienced players & the NKs are the inexperienced. Now this will lead me down the way of possible meta-reasoning, so I'll stop here.

Who is getting people (innos) lynched? Two players that should have been able to talk their way out of trouble were unable to, for whatever reason.

Let's examine trains

It is Day 1. 3 minutes remaining
13 Players still alive: Alkend, Anthras, Atrahal, Barghast, Galayn Lord, Karatallid, Kessobahn, Korabas, Korlat, Merrid, Okaros, Thyrllan, Tiamatha

7 votes to lynch, 7 votes to go to night.

1 Vote for Thyrllan ( Korabas )
7 Votes for Okaros ( Anthras, Alkend, Merrid, Kessobahn, Karatallid, Tiamatha, Thyrllan )
1 Vote for Anthras ( Okaros )

Players not voted: Atrahal, Barghast, Galayn Lord, Korlat

The recruits walked over the padded floor in the training ground, gesturing wildly and arguing. Clothed in safety gear to avoid injury, they were a singularly intimidating sight.

As the artificial sun began to go down, the shouting died down as well. A decision was made, a hilarious decision that made even the hard eyed drill Sergeant chuckle.

Okaros (Twelve) is dead. He was town.

View PostPath-Shaper, on 05 March 2012 - 03:51 PM, said:

The recruits have started the day with more shouting. Especially Korabas, who had looked forward to sharing a tent with Okaros, was very angry.
However, after a time, it all quieted down. Everyone settled into a nice big pillow and contemplated the artificial sun, drank "vodka" (water in truth) and felt quiet mellow.
So it went for a loooong time.

In the end, they singled out Tiamatha. They bashed him with pillows until he couldn't stand it anymore. He dodged the swings, craweled out of the mass of pillows and feathers and sat himself on the spectator bench.

It is Day 2. 12 minutes remaining
11 Players still alive: Anthras, Atrahal, Barghast, Galayn Lord, Karatallid, Kessobahn, Korabas, Korlat, Merrid, Thyrllan, Tiamatha

6 votes to lynch, 6 votes to go to night.

6 Votes for Tiamatha ( Karatallid, Merrid, Tiamatha, Korabas, Korlat, Kessobahn )

Players not voted: Anthras, Atrahal, Barghast, Galayn Lord, Thyrllan

Tiamatha (Tattersail) was lynched. He was innocent

I have quoted these trains for convenience.

Hmm, Tatts CF says "innocent" instead of "town" like the others. Wonder if we got an unusual role here or just inconsistency from PS. I imagine that if anyone has any clues they wouldn't care to share them right now though.

Hmm despite arguments between them Anthras was not on the tiam train there. Or you for that matter Thyr but I remember a back and forth that was rather involved between anthras and tiam.

And GL hasn't actually been on either train, if I remember he was the person that removed a vote from Okaros to give people more time to talk. And he cast a vote after the hammer there 'just in case' which strikes me as interesting, I was feeling uneasy about him.

Kara has been on both trains, not surprising with tiam since they were arguing but he was generally against the Okaros lynch, switched for numbers I assume. Merrid is cropping up twice as well, I hadn't been feeling much of a pull towards him though.

I would like to hear more from Kesso. Both days he has appeared on thread just before time out, made superficial comments on the cases, laid down a vote following general opinion and then left again. He is not contributing to any of the cases or providing any viable alternatives. Not posting much, and not making waves.

The thought that Tiam got himself lynched to divert attention also occurred to me. If I can find the time I will go back and have a look at what was going on around that time. Although, I don't really remember any decent cases developing at the time.

True, kess is one of those players that just keeps slipping my mind, he certainly does seem to turn up primarily around lynch time and doesn't contribute a great deal case wise.

He seems to turn up just after a lynch takes place. Of course, I do too, but that's because lynch always happens when I'm out.

Kesso, I would like to hear some content from you. Opinions. Thoughts. No bland repititions!

Edit: I just realized how inaccurate and redundant this statement is. Left it as is so I could apologize for the hypocrisy. I meant to say Kesso appears right around lynch time and jumps on the train.

Really? We've had two lynches and I've been there for one of them. I put down a vote with 7 hours or something to go for the first lynch because I knew it was highly unlikely I'd be around at lynch time.

Don't push me for content, I'm not prepared to make shit up on the spot to entertain you. If I notice stuff, I'll say it, but making up crap which I know is crap is not helpful for town. I'll give you content when I've got it.

All I have at the moment is meta: Tattersail flips out sometimes. He often has really good games, but when he's under pressure early game he does tend to freak out sometimes for some reason. So I don't know that I'd feel entirely comfortable suggesting he's a symp just because he's been flailing around the thread at lot.
