It isn't that sanctuary cities won't uphold immigration laws it is that the police are instructed to not inform ICE (should be a terrorist org for putting kids in cages) when they arrest someone for a unrelated offense. Asking people to prove citizen ship has been shown to make people less likely to contact the police for issues. It boils down to are the police there to prevent and investigate crimes or to do ICE job for them. Since my local dollars pay my police and their pensions I don't want them wasting time with immigration when there are real crimes to be tackled.
There is no federal law that says that local police have to help ICE.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Everyone running for president seems like a bad thing to me. It reminds me of my highschool SRC elections. I think more than half the student body chose to run, they ran not because they felt they could win, not because they could achieve something, not because they were the best for the job but because we live in a day and age where everyone is out for themselves, wants the attention and the glory.
These republican and democratic primaries remind me of that. I'm not familiar enough with all these governors and senators but I imagine the vast majority stand no real chance and they porbably know it. They are just muddying the waters and confusing the issues in the grasp for some attention.
