Told you to go earlier. Make sure you go before work gets out. It will be crazy long then.

Only had to wait 30 minutes this time.

Loved two whole pages of uncontested Republicans.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Why don't Sindriss, Apt and I just declare your country a danish colony and jack up the taxes to 50% Maybe that'll put and end to your political division :)
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I'm excited. Which means I'll be in bad shape if things don't look good. The swing states Romney is most likely to win are all on the east coast. So I will try to keep it under control...

I'm not even worried. A little worried about Liz Warren. Mostly kinda excited that CA might actually overturn the death penalty and also amend the three strikes law to be more reasonable.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

For those who are not Americans and have never done this before....we will be glued to the TVs for hours tonight. And we will be increasingly nervous as the night goes on...unless Obama pulls out an early win in Virginia or Florida. Obama only needs Ohio and Virginia to win (out of all the swing states). CNN reported that Romney's internal polls show Obama ahead by 5 in Ohio!

In 2008 I watched the returns in my dorm. Since I live in MS, most people were holed up in their dorm rooms waiting for the end of the world, but there were a bunch of exchange students who watched the returns with me, including a couple of Dutch girls who were very excited about Obama, lol. And after the results became clear, all the black people on campus were out in the parking lots, driving around and honking, shouting, etc. I don't think it will be decided so early this time, though; Obama had huge margins in 2008.

I think I amazed people with how fast I got out of the voting booth today.

OK, this was a few (ha) elections ago but tell me this isn't clever as all hell:

Wish we could get something similar for this election, instead of cartoonists drawing two pictures of a knight slaying a dragon with Obama and Romney's head swapped in each.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'm going to the DMV tomorrow to curse out whoever gave me my new DL and didn't complete my address change after I put in all this time watching this campaign!! That was so embarrassing getting told I was no longer a registered voter when I know I am! Fucking incompentance!

There were thousands of people purged from voter rolls in MS, including a guy who was in front of me in line when the polls opened, and an 84-year-old woman my mom knows when she went hours later. Sad.

Jesus that sounds like Zimbabwe. Do you actually not get to vote at all in some places?

Mind you I applied three times here and still didn't get my papers on time, but I just voted on the specials which took slightly longer but wasn't a problem otherwise.

If you find you're worrying about the election results, and you're an Obama/Democrat supporter, then you're doing it wrong.

Just do what I do, and only look at Nate Silver's blog - Predicted 91% likelihood that Obama would win before the polls began closing.

In any case, it will be: Democrat President and Senate, Republican House. Political gridlock. So...the same as before :)

Polls are great, but real results are better.

Last I saw Ohio's looking pretty blue and Obama's leading in Florida, just about. Am I wrong or will taking these two effectively keep Obama in the White House?

Obama could win just by taking Ohio and Virginia of the swing states. And Florida has even more electoral votes than Virginia, about twice as many. So Obama winning Florida alone is checkmate, as they're saying on MSNBC.

US Elections: Voters On Both Sides Threaten To Move To NZ

We (me and classmates) tried to come up with some more logical places for Republicans to go to than Canada and New Zealand, and came up with Israel and South Africa. :)

Shit! I'm surprised that my state Louisiana had Romney win... We re usually a Democrate win.

Nope, Silver predicted Louisiana would go to Romney with a 100% certainty - and I'm going to keep quoting Nate Silver all night :)
