I'm taking a break from the forum. I apologize to Silencer and BK: to Silencer for aggravating a situation and Briar King for being insensitive.

That being said: I grew up in the last bastion county of the KKK in the northern US. I grew up with racist friends and in that culture. I know racism when I see it. It is a particularly sensitive subject to me and I took that conversation far more seriously than others probably did and overreacted. No excuse, just explanation.

I'll still read from time to time, but I have far more pressing real life issues with my family to deal with unnecessary drama here; even if I am a partial cause of it.

I started this thread because I love politics. I don't anymore. I hate the divisiveness and frankly the fact that Trump is president. I don't think I can rationally react anymore and it is best to just stay away for the time being.

For those that reached out, I do appreciate and this is my response to you all.

Cheers.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Whelp, Mueller subpoenaed Bannon in the Russian investigation.

Is there any chance all these interviews/interrogations are going to be made public under or after these investigations? I'd love to hear these people squirm.

That's a good question. I have no idea.

At this point if they made the interviews pay per view, I think they might be able to pay off America's debt before 2019.

Considering the amount of people who treated Comey's testimony like a sporting event to watch at the local pub...you might be right.

Trump is 1 lb. short of being in the obese category. That's convenient. Also, his readings show him being in the range for heart disease. Not surprising based on what details of his diet has been reported.

He's also grown taller since the last time he went to the DMV.

He's clearly obese.

It's just more gaslighting from the whitehouse.

I know this is petty, but:
Now that it's pretty well confirmed that Donald Trump cheated on his wife shortly after she gave birth to their son, and then paid the woman six-figure hush money to keep quiet, I am daydreaming of him having to go through a contentious divorce while in office.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I really hope none of our Americans are employees of the US government.

I think this is the point where the Democrats have to stand their ground or be revealed as the absolutely useless bums I believe them to be. If they're able to get the Child Insurance funding and concessions on DACA over this they've won. If Trump gets his wall no democrat in congress or senate deserves her job.

First year of Trump in the books. What do you guys feel about the next three (if he makes it)? Hopeful? Ambivalent? Fearful? More of the same? The human spirit and the enduring struggle towards what is right will prevail?

What say you all?

Cautiously optimistic for the '18 midterms. Lots of R incumbents aren't even running again (including several in California Posted Image ) so that's gotta be a sign of something. We'll see.
I'll tell you one thing, though. If the 2018 Women's March tells us something, it's that Trump unleashed a lion. Figuratively speaking, he gnashed his teeth and bit the recess lady's breast. And it's not even a question: a lot of men and women aren't going to forget.

I think many of the Republicans are cashing out. Someone like Paul Ryan doesn't leave unless he knows the getting will be good.

The key battles are going to be the "purple" states and getting the white women to stop fucking voting for the GOP.

Yah I pretty much agree. That said, there's one exception imo, and maybe I'm wrong, but Jeff Flake looks like his goal is to primary the president in 2020.

He will be competing with Kasitch on that.

White women are going to continue to vote for GOP .. has more values. All one needs to looks at the left wing bastions of power (Hollywood and College) to see how women have been treated. Decades of abuse just got laid at their feet.

Doesn’t take a genius to see this particular impact has far more political consequences.

I think the difference is that the left is willing, at least to some extent, to call people on their bullshit and abhorrent behavior while the right happily voted for Roy Moore.

"Values"!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Values. You know, like: https://www.cnn.com/...unds/index.html

Values. I suppose that's one way to look at it. Still, I wonder...now that we've established the majority of white women vote GOP because of Values, what should we conclude about non-white women and Values, since -- for example -- they voted 81% to 16% Clinton over Trump?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
