This article is the reason why Cuomo should not be president: https://gothamist.co...coronavirus-aid
The basic thrust of it is that in the middle of this pandemic, he is actively trying to cut Medicaid funding - which essentially means healthcare funding - by $6 billion dollars while at the same time rejecting approximately $6.5 billion from the federal government for this purpose.
Look at Jay Inslee of Washington - who is doing his fucking job very well - for a better example of how a governor should be responding to this pandemic.

I saw it called Giuliani-ing Cuomo and I thought that was quite apt.

What's been going on with the 2020 election process? Have some of the states yet to vote for the democratic nominee, are they still a go? I believe Biden pretty much had it wrapped up, but Bernie hadn't suspended his campaign yet, yeah?

The NY primaries have been pushed back to June. Some level of "mail in ballot" has been discussed for NY and other states, but in places like Georgia the Republican Speaker of their House are against mail in ballots bc they would result in big Republican losses due to increased turnout.

Bernie is statistically unlikely to win and has just about focused the entirety of his campaign and resources to raising funds to help people hit hardest by COVID-19. This is generous and a truly good thing to do.
One thing I am keeping my eye on is that a credible claim of sexual assault by Biden and occuring in the 1990s has come up.

I think that the majority of American voters do not care if their preferred candidate actually did stuff like this, much less are accused of doing it. That's a sad thing to say, but look at the gotdang President.
In a better world, this would be taken with the utmost seriousness. This may not happen and I'm sad that Biden may be the person I have to back against Trump instead of Sanders, who has a much more humane and powerful set of policy planks.
COVID-19 is showing us how strong nationalized healthcare is and how much better countries like Canada are handling the impacts of people getting extremely sick, losing their jobs, having to pay rent or the mortgage, having to deal with childcare, frantic grocery shopping etc.
And Hillary Clinton is fucking talking about opening up the health insurance for millions without jobs to buy their health insurance. With what money, you rich dumbass?

Oh man, you guys are in so much trouble. This is deeply disturbing.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. It's worse than that.
The Trump/Kushner led feds are now seizing supplies ordered by the states (Massachusetts is the most recent example), then giving it to private contractors to sell on to other states at inflated prices.
https://www.wcvb.com...w-york/32021700
This confiscation of supplies is what led to the headlines involving the billionaire Robert Kraft using his private plane to go to China and bring N95 masks to Massachusetts.
The problem is that the journalists covering the latter aren't connecting the dots easily to the seizures ordered by Trump and others.
Now we're moving into a hold being put on selling masks to Canada - where all the wood pulp used to make the masks come from. It's complete jackassery and it's already killing thousands. A few months ago I was maintaining that GW Bush was a worse president for the hundreds of thousands that died in the Middle East, but Trump has a legit shot at eclipsing that death total without launching a war.

There's also this I guess there's never a bad time to take the opportunity to piss off your allies.

Don't forget Hurricane Maria. More loss of life than Katrina (which I lived through), and most deaths preventable.

I am shamefully admitting that I clean forgot about a million plus people being displaced, almost 2k deaths, and so much fumbling by the administration then. Damnit.

Stephanie Grisham out as White House Press Secretary. She replaced Sarah Huckabee-Sanders. Grisham is unknown to most because she never held a WH press briefing. Which is, I don't know, the totality of the job.
