That could be the part, although I'm not thinking of Pusts Temple - there is a scene where he visit's Apsalar on one of the Malazan Transports in BH just after the Edur's Sorcerous attack has been thwarted by Quick Ben - It's near the end of the book i think but apsalar is remembering the visit after the fact so i guess it takes place before he is in the cave.
There were clouds closed fast round the moon. And one by one, gardens died .....

Still, this novel will flesh out Jackuruku..... even more so, we will come across Ardatha as a god, actively participating and having a realm half on this world. Quite interesting.
Moreso, I think the idea of Kyle being the grey ghost would be interesting.... though a new unique character would be better I think

4 topics off the top of my head I would love to read about.
1) The Moranth
2) Shal Morzinn
3) Assail
4) Jakaruku
ICE never seens to let me down on stuff that SE drops hints of in his books ie. The Crimson Guard, Dassem and his First Sword, and of course the Seguleh. Maybe this new book will touch on some of the aforementioned topics.

The grey ghost could be Kallor trying to reclaim his empire..... I covered the whole of Jacurucku

Really hope Cowl gets freed/escapes and makes a reappearance in this book, along with Skinner and the rest of the disavowed.

Pffft. That would mean waiting like 6 months. No thanks. I'll keep ordering from Europa.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I only get what my local bookstore can order. Which means US editions.

Import shipping is ridiculous, and Book Depository has been out of stock the last couple times I've tried to use them (for both SW and OST). And I've decided I hate Bantam's too-stiff TPB covers and pages, so I guess I get to play Tor's stupid waiting game from now on.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

I just like picking things up at stores more, especially ones where I know some of the people and can talk to them about nerdy books.

Really like the ideas being thrown around in this thread. But is anyone else worried about the time between the release of this novel and the last one? Normally they are released every two years and my biggest fear would be that this one may have been rushed - although as it has been hinted at earlier this book may have been part-written at an earlier time.

ICE has already written all 5 Malazan novels and also has 15 more in his loft. The publishers just wont let him release them....
Seriously though I dont think these are being rushed and id say it was already mostly done when OST came out months ago.

Yeah, it seems like almost all the ICE novels were finished at least a year before they were actually published.
