Alright, here comes Stormy's list for the Impoverished.
1) Minecraft. Can we cut the crap here and admit this shit is bonkers-amazing.
2) Skyrim. I just got it. And now I feel bad for ridiculing it's dominance.
3) Bastion. Goddamn this game is fun. Go buy it. It's on Steam, and it's super cheap.
4) Black Ops. It's the only FPS I've played recently that hasn't made me want to punch people in the face.
5) Dark Souls. I played the first one, and HOLY FUCK this is so much better.

Traveller: So basically your perfect AC game is a more violent version of what most of us Thief fans have wanted as the perfect Thief game for years
(and will hopefully get with Thi4f)
While I like the shortened versions of what you say in Bioware games, I do find that there are quite a number of situations where the shortened example is extremely misleading. I've had that issue in every Bioware game that does conversation that way. In most of them, it's just an annoyance as they allow you to save. However it was a real problem three or so times in the short time I played Old Republic. I think a good suggestion would be to do something similar to Alpha Protocol. Keep the snippet, make the whole wheel a little bigger, then smaller underneath each option state the tone/intent. Things like "insult", "flirt", "smart arse" etc.
I too need to throw another vote behind Bastion, which was an awesome game

Haven't played many new games this year myself, but having said that:
this thread shows a disturbing lack of love for Uncharted 3.
that is all.

That's because Uncharted 3 was not actually that good.
>.>
There, I said it.
...
*disclaimer: has not actually played any of the Uncharted games. So shoot me, I'm a PC fanboy who plays on Xbox.

<Vote Silencer> For not garnering any heat or any love for that matter. And I'm being serious here, it's like a mental block that is there, and you just keep forgetting it.

and i'm a pc fanboy who owns a PS3, so go figure.
Shogun 2 is my personal favourite of the year, I just thought Uncharted 3 deserved a mention.

I have yet to play Uncharted 3, though I want to and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Uncharted 2
I expect U3 to be great

Silencer beat me to it: the lack of love for Uncharted 3 is probably explained by the scarcity of PS3 owners among those who posted here.

I will be playing Uncharted someday but I am not in a rush. I usually don't buy PS3 games untill they are down to around 40% of the initial price.

Had a burn on U3 at my mates place. Played right through 1, but not 2.
From everything I saw its a lot prettier, and I'm sure the story itself is just as great as the other ones. But I want to kill shit thoroughly, and have fun killing shit.
Spending half of your entire play hours hiding behing walls is just ridiculous. Only to have the guys you just killed, while trying to get into position to kill that pesky sniper, respawn and come up behind you.
Plus I think my mate said on a higher difficulty they can shoot through walls. A game that has you pinned down behind cover every other minute, and then they just through the walls anyway.
Don't know, maybe its just me, but haven't really enjoyed the franchise overly much.

Skyrim
Mass Effect 2
Black Ops
Theres about 5 more that were good, but these 3 were the ones i played the hell out of.
Most disappointed in Rage. I did enjoy the game, but it could have been so frikkin badass.

Notch got me playing Team Fortress 2 again 'cause of his god damn tweets about it.
