You're very right about that. I've got about 6 chapters left now and it's been nonstop since that event I mentioned earlier. I should have remembered to give it a little more time before the explosions since this is the start of an arc.

Warmaster is more part 1 with Anarch being part 2. So there's some really awesome stuff that only triggers in Anarch. However once that goes off? Oh boy. Things then go from intense to super intense.

Of Gaunt's Ghosts? Unclear. Abnett knew he was going to be doing other stuff for a while, so left open the door for other writers to come in and do stuff.
Since then Abnett has concluded the Horus Heresy series and confirmed he wrote one more entire novel immediately afterwards, which should be out this year. That book is probably Pandemonium, the final Bequin book and the book that rounds off the trilogy-of-trilogies that started with Eisenhorn.
I suspect his next project will be finishing off Gaunt's Ghosts. He said there would be at least one more arc of two to four novels, plus a couple of spin-off books (including Interceptor City, the long-delayed sequel to Double Eagle, and possibly a side-book about the returned Saint Sabine).

About 3/4 way through the Heresy.

Just about to start Solar Aar
First book of the siege.
Last book of the Heresy, the Buried Dagger was a fairly poor offering for me

Solar War
eh, alright. I dislike the books that have Chaos almost Deus Ex things at a grand climax, remembrancer was telegraphed in.
Fuck the word bearers
on to siege 2

Well into Saturnine
It's odd, but Abbadon actually is by no means awful, yes he's in the mournival, but there are definitely worse marines on the loyalist side, about 85% done, so not sure where he will end up, but his disgust at the chaos legions makes him a lot more palatable read than basically every other traitor POV in the entire heresy

So I....found my copy of Saturnine, and somehow the authors name had been scribbled out.
Considering how much I enjoyed it, came as no surprise it was the first Abnett book of the siege

Echoes of Eternity was frustrating.
A lot of awesome, a lot of trying to be cute with vignettes of one shot characters who tell their story and die, A LOT. We get it, war is the grind and most people are nobodies in the mill, but 6 or 7 in a row just completely kills the story's momentum.
Sanguinus, he can fuck shit up

That's a whole lot of "End".
To be fair though, there's a whole lot of lot in the 40K universe.

On to the end and the death part 2.
A lot of circles coming to a close, seems the authors must have clubbed together and agreed to throw in a fuck ton of micro vignettes to show how everyone dies.
Too many, they could have made the siege 9 books by removing most of them
